Writing Challenge #4: Narrative Brainstorming.

A story is an account of a character struggling to reach a goal.

For the Narrative Writing Project, you will choose one of the following:

Option 1- Creative Nonfiction: You will be writing a personal narrative about a meaningful
moment in your life that caused you to grow or change. . Using sensory details, figurative
language and character development, make a personal connection to the reader, helping them to
learn and understand whatever wisdom you gained from the experience.

Option 2- Creative Fiction: You will be writing a short story that centers around an original
fictional, believable character who is trying to reach a goal. Using vivid details and careful
plotting, your story will take the character through this struggle, and will ultimately change your
character (for better or worse!) in some way (and so, too, with audience be changed). Your
character must seem real to readers, which will compel them to read this narrative!
