FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2021-2022”

WHEREAS, Section 98 of the Local Government Code of 1991 (R.A. 7160)

mandates that, there shall be established in every province, city or municipality, a
provincial, city or municipal school board;

WHEREAS, the SEF of the municipality requires a competent Board that will handle
it’s affairs especially on disbursement of funds considering the big impact education
to the development of the municipality;

WHEREAS, there is a need to reconstitute the Municipal School Boards it could

function effectively and efficiently in accordance with the objectives for which it was
created;

SECTION I. The reconstitution of the Municipal School Board with the following
functions, powers & composition;

SECTION III. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE MUNICIPAL SCHOOL
BOARD

a) Determine in accordance with the criteria set by the Department of

Education Culture & Sports, the annual supplementary budgetary needs for the
operation & maintenance of public schools within the province, city, municipality or
as the case maybe, and the supplementary local cost of meeting such needs which
shall be reflected in the form of the annual school board budget corresponding to its
share of the proceeds of the special levy on real property constituting the Special
Education Fund and such other sources of revenue as this Code and other laws or
ordinances may provide;

b) Authorize the municipal treasurer as the case maybe, to disburse funds

from the SEF pursuant to the budget prepared and in accordance with the existing
rules and regulation;

c) Serve as an advisory committee to Sanggunian concerned on

educational matters such as, but not limited to, the necessity for and the uses of
local appropriation for educational purposes;

d) Recommend changes in the names of public schools within the

territorial jurisdiction of the local government unit for enactment by the Sanggunian
concerned;

SECTION V. MEETINGS AND QUORUMS

The Municipal School Board shall meet monthly. The majority of all its members shall
constitute a quorum.

SECTION VI. EFFECTIVITY

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately upon approval.

In the light of the foregoing, I hereunto set my hand and seal this 29 th day of
