1. Introduction

Human resources are an important component in a company or

organization to achieve its goals. In addition, human resources are also
factors that influence the development of a company. To achieve its goals, the
company needs a plan that discusses what steps will be taken in order to
compete with other competitors. Then it takes a solid management to achieve
a goal of the company. Human Resource Management quoted by AA Anwar
Prabu Mangkunegara (2013; 2), namely "Human resource management is a
planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, and supervising the
procurement, development, remuneration, integration, maintenance, and
separation of labor work in order to achieve organizational goals.

Human resources are the company's most important asset in an effort

to achieve company goals. Companies can grow very rapidly if they have a lot
of competent human resources in their fields. And vice versa, if the human

resources working in a company are not qualified, then the company's

development will also be hampered. Various efforts must be made by a
manager to be able to attract, maintain and maintain competent human
resources to remain in the company.

Humans are the main capital which also serves as the pinnacle of the
spearhead in the company because an employee must have intelligence,
energy, determination, insight, feelings and creativity in achieving the vision
and mission of the company. In order for productivity to be of high quality
and also on time in production, employees must pay attention to the safety
and health of the employees themselves, because by having health,
employees can carry out work to the fullest so that productivity gains are
achieved.

There are several aspects in increasing work productivity, namely

work safety and occupational health. Remembering that employees are an
important asset of the company and if one educates the workforce there is a
risk of causing problems and can even destroy the company's goals.
Companies must pay attention to employees, because employees are the key
to increasing company productivity. According to Sinungan, work
productivity is the quality and quality of work that is assessed by the
company and takes into account production costs. According to Sinungan,
productivity means efficiency in managing goods and services by using
existing resources. Expertise in producing products optimally by using
available resources, facilities and infrastructure. (Rachman Saleh & Utomo,
2018)

PT Yanmarindo Perkasa is an industry in the field of selling machines

and tool sets as well as producing trailers of agricultural machines and
tractors that are useful for making it easier for consumers to use. PT
Yanmarindo Perkasa is located in Air Hitam Village, Kec. Payung Sekaki,
Pekanbaru City. The main activities carried out by PT Yanmarindo Perkasa
are selling diesel and agricultural machinery and tool sets which must be
assembled or assembled prior to sale, as well as producing machine and
tractor trailers, so that employees must fulfill their responsibilities in
applying protection while still implementing work safety. and pay attention
to the health of employees.

From the observations of researchers at the location there are still

employees who still do not use personal protective equipment (PPE), while
working there are also employees who are in the wrong position when lifting
weights which can result in injury to the waist. This is due to the lack of
awareness of employees to pay attention to occupational health in around
the work site. According to Mondy, work safety is protection for workers
related to work accidents. According to Wahyu Ratna, work safety is the
designation of a safe situation, damage or loss in the workplace. Then the
conclusion is drawn that work safety is a safe situation and there is

protection for workers in carrying out their work from work accidents at
work. (Prastyana, 2021)

Occupational health is self-protection efforts such as obtaining health

insurance, protection for the body and soul of employees while working,
minimizing health problems caused by work such as employees who are sick
as a result of work in the workplace to increase work productivity, take care
of employees and help companies achieve goals. . Occupational health is a
person's fit condition both physically, spiritually or socially. Related to the
avoidance of mental or physical damage due to mistakes in the work location.
(Bernhardin & Syahril Ismail, 2020)

There were also employees who did not store work equipment
including sharp objects such as crowbars, hammers, nails and used wood in
their places which risked harming other employees, work productivity of
employees who were still unable to complete work quickly and on time and
at work locations. There is also work that is carried out in Confined Spaces or
confined spaces that must be considered for all activities carried out by
employees, in terms of lighting, oxygen, and lighting settings to maintain
employee health as a result of working in confined spaces which can
endanger employee health.

In Table 1 it can be seen that PT YanmarIndo Perkasa Pekanbaru still

has problems with employee work accidents. This means that employees are
still not good at doing their jobs so that there is a lack of safety at work for
employees and will ultimately hamper the production process. This happens
because there is a lack of quality human resources available in certain fields
so that employees are required to fill in the blanks even though they are not
in accordance with the employee's expertise.

2. Literature review

Productivity (Y)

Productivity is the achievement of work targets both in quantity and quality

based on the function, norms and standards of the company. With the

Framework

According to Echdar (2017: 386), the framework is a description of

how the researcher flows the train of thought logically in order to solve the
problems that have been formulated. Based on the description above, the
authors form a framework of thinking which is a structure in discussing the

From Figure 1 above, it can be explained that supervision and work

ethic are independent variables and employee performance is the dependent
variable. On this basis, this study will prove the effect of the independent
variables, namely Occupational Safety and Health on the dependent variable,
namely Work Productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

Research Hypothesis

According to Echdar (2017: 387), a hypothesis is a temporary

allegation of a research problem. It is said temporarily, because the answers
given are only based on relevant theory, not yet based on empirical facts
obtained through data collection.

In connection with the problems that have been raised and by paying
attention to the literature review on existing theories and from the
framework above, the authors can put forward hypotheses as temporary
conjectures from this study as follows:

H1: It is suspected that work safety (X1) has an effect on work productivity at
PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

H2: It is suspected that Occupational Health (X2) has an effect on Work

Productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

H3: It is suspected that Occupational Safety (X1) and Occupational Health

(X2) have an effect on Work Productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

3. Research methods

The variables in this study consist of two variables. The first variable
is the independent variable, namely Occupational Safety and Occupational
Health. The second variable is the dependent variable, namely Work
Productivity. The population is a generalized area consisting of
objects/subjects that have certain qualities and characteristics determined
by researchers to be studied and then conclusions drawn (Sugiyono, 2017:
117). The population is all employees of PT Yanmarindo Perkasa with a total
of 54 employees. In this study the sampling method used the saturated
sampling method or the census method, this is because the population size is
not too large or less than 100 (Sugiyono, 2016: 66). Thus, all 54 employees of
PT Yanmarindo Perkasa were taken as samples.

The meaning of the numbers in the regression equation above is as

follows:

a. The constant value (a) is 13.386. This means that if all independent
variables (Occupational Safety and Health) are assumed to be zero (0),
then Work Productivity increases by 13.386 assuming other variables
are constant.
b. The regression coefficient value of the Supervision variable is 0.591.
This means that every increase in Work Safety by 1 will increase Work
Productivity by 0.591 assuming the other variables are constant.

c. The regression coefficient value of the Occupational Health variable is

0.408. This means that every increase in Occupational Health by 1 will
increase Work Productivity by 0.408 assuming the other variables are
constant.

From Table 3 to determine the effect of the independent variable on

the dependent variable, a partial hypothesis test (t) is used. To find the t
table, namely (df: n – k -1) = (df: 54 - 2 - 1) then df : 51 the result of the t table
is 2.0075.

H1: It can be seen that the tcount value for the Occupational Safety variable is
2.909 > ttable 2.0075 and a significance value of 0.005 <0.05, so it can
be concluded that H1 is accepted, meaning that partially there is a
significant influence between the Occupational Safety variable (X1) on
Work Productivity ( Y) at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

H2: The effect of Occupational Health on Work Productivity can be seen by

the tcount value for the Occupational Health variable of 2.221 < ttable
2.0075 and a significance value of 0.031 <0.05 it can be concluded
H2 is accepted, meaning that partially there is a significant influence

Based on the test results in Table 4, it can be seen using the formula
Ftable = (k : n–k) where Ftable = (2 : 52) the result of Ftable is 3.18, then the
Fcount value is 49.668 > F table 3.18 with a significance of 0.000 . By using
the level of α (Alpha) = 0.05 or 5% then H3 is accepted. Acceptance of H3 is
proven by the calculation results that the value of Sig. (0.000) < 0.05 so that it
can be concluded that Occupational Safety and Occupational Health
simultaneously have a significant influence on Work Productivity at PT
Yanmarindo Perkasa.

Based on the results of the research that work safety has on work
productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa, the results show that work safety is
still in good condition, but what needs to be considered in terms of the level
of administrative control and personnel, according to some respondents the
administration is slow in completing work.

The findings in this study illustrate that from the work safety variable
it is known that there are weaknesses in indicators of the level of
administration and personnel control, where PT Yanmarindo Perkasa based
on most of the respondents' statements that administration is often late in
solving problems, so employees are also late in completing their work
because waiting for a response from the administration.

Meanwhile, according to the obtained results of the study with

regression, it shows that the regression coefficient is positive, which
indicates a unidirectional relationship between work safety and work
productivity, meaning that if work safety increases, work productivity will
also increase. Furthermore, the results of the t test show that work safety
with a calculated t value is greater than the t table value, meaning that there
is a significant influence on the work safety variable on work productivity
variables. This is in line with research conducted by Behardin and Syahril
Ismail (2020) that any increase in work safety will increase work
productivity.

2. The Influence of Occupational Health on Work Productivity at PT

Yanmarindo Perkasa

Based on the results of the study that occupational health affects work
productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa, results show that occupational
health is still in good condition, but what needs to be considered in terms of
negligence, according to some respondents, is that they are still negligent at
work.

The findings in this study illustrate that from the occupational health
variable it is known that there are weaknesses in the negligence indicator,
where PT Yanmarindo Perkasa based on most of the respondents' statements
that they are still negligent at work because their health is not properly
maintained at work.

Meanwhile, according to the obtained results of the study with

regression, it shows that the regression coefficient is positive, which
indicates a unidirectional relationship between occupational health and work
productivity, meaning that if occupational health increases, work
productivity will also increase. Furthermore, the results of the t test test
show that occupational health with a calculated t value is greater than the t
table value, meaning that there is a significant influence on occupational
health variables on work productivity variables. This is in line with research

conducted by Nining Wahyuni, Bambang Suyadi and Wiwin Hartanto (2018)

that any improvement in occupational health will increase work productivity.

3. The Influence of Occupational Safety and Health on Work

Productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa

Based on the results of the study that work safety and occupational
health have an effect on work productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa and the
results show that self-development is still in good condition, this can also be
proven from the constant value (α) which is positive, which means that if
work safety and occupational health If it gives a positive influence, then work
productivity will increase and indicates that there is a unidirectional
relationship between work safety, work health and work productivity.

As for the test results on the f test, it is known that the value of f
count> f table, it can be interpreted that there is a significant influence on the
work safety variable (X1) and the work health variable (X2) simultaneously
or jointly affect the work productivity variable (Y ), another finding was
obtained from the results of the coefficient of determination test where
occupational safety and occupational health had an effect on work
productivity of 64.7% and the remaining 35.3% was influenced by other
factors not included in this study.

In addition, based on the results of data processing, the researchers

also obtained the result that there was a significant effect of occupational
safety and health on work productivity, so that the more work safety and
health provided to employees, the better work productivity at PT
Yanmarindo Perkasa. The results of this study are in line with research
conducted by Behardin and Syahril Ismail (2020) and Nining Wahyuni,
Bambang Suyadi and Wiwin Hartanto (2018) that any increase in work safety
and occupational health will increase work productivity.

6. Conclusions and Suggestions

Conclusion

The conclusions that can be drawn from the results of the regression
analysis and hypothesis testing in this study are as follows:

1. Partially, work safety has a significant effect on work productivity at

PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

2. Partially, occupational health has a significant effect on work

productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

3. Simultaneously work safety and occupational health have a significant

effect on work productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

4. Occupational safety and occupational health have an influence of

64.7% on work productivity at PT Yanmarindo Perkasa.

Suggestion

Based on the conclusions above, the authors provide advice to PT

Yanmarindo Perkasa, namely:

1. Suggestions for the superiors of PT Yanmarindo Perkasa because the

indicator that gets the lowest rating is the Level of Administrative
Control and Personnel where the administration statement is slow in
completing work. So it is hoped that PT Yanmarindo Perkasa's
superiors will be able to evaluate the administration, this is done so
that the administration can complete work quickly and can make
decisions on work problems and make employees able to do their jobs
quickly.

2. Suggestions for the superiors of PT Yanmarindo Perkasa, because the

indicator that gets the lowest rating is Negligence, in which the
employee's statement is negligent at work. So it is hoped that PT
Yanmarindo Perkasa's supervisors can maintain the health of
employees both in terms of the environment and pollution in the
company, so that the health of employees is maintained and they are
no longer negligent at work.

3. Suggestions for future researchers, it is hoped that this research can

become a reference for research on the same theme and it is also
hoped that they can conduct research using variables other than the
variables examined in this study.
