Learning Targets
 I can read the sight word and.
 I can write the letters Dd, Ff, Ll and
tell you their sounds.
 I can write words from the “at”
family! (bat, cat, hat, that, sat, etc.).
 I can practice writing a sentence
using an uppercase letter, spacing,
and an end mark.
 I can make a talking scarecrow! Ask
me what my scarecrow said! These
are hanging in our room as
decorations! 😉
 I can make a picture our of leaves
and write about it!
 I can decipher fiction fantasy from
non-fiction real! We read a non-
fiction story about bats but then
made fiction “color bats”!
 I can interview a friend about many
different things they prefer (toys,
foods, cartoons etc.).
 I can practice grouping sets,
comparing quantities, writing my
numbers to 10, and subitizing!
UPCOMING EVENTS
Next week our sight words will be “a” and “go”. We
will learn to write the letters Kk/Yy and learn their sounds!
We continue to track words as we read and recognize the
first sound in a word. We are also focusing on word families
and blending sounds together to make words. We’re learning
about main characters and settings in stories as well as re-
telling the important parts of a story. We notice that most
stories have a problem that needs to be solved. We’ll also do
some fun craftivities with pumpkins. 😊
In writing we are focusing on letter formation, spaces
in between our writing, using an uppercase letter for the
beginning of a sentence and the word “I”, using punctuation,
and labeling our pictures. We’re also working on adding details
to our writing.
In Math we will conclude Topic 3 and take our very
first math assessment. Those assessments will be in the back
of their Topic 3 math books when they bring them home…the
red pages. 😊
 Field Trip- We will be going to the pumpkin patch/maze
called “Something from the Farm” on Oct. 18th. Thank
you for returning your field trip form. 😊
 Halloween Party- Our party will be Oct. 31st from 2:15-
3:00. A school wide parade (around Werner) will begin
about 3:00. Parents are welcome to attend both! 😊

be coming soon! 😊
