 PHARMACOLOGY
No vaccine or specific treatment for MERS is currently available, however
there are several vaccines for MERS in development (WHO, 2021).

Ribavirin and interferon alfa have synergistic in vitro effects against the
virus, but their role (if any) in the treatment of MERS remains unknown
(CDC, 2021).
