burger steak recipe

Burger steak is a delicious and comforting dish that combines the flavors of hamburgers and
gravy. Here's a simple burger steak recipe for you:

Ingredients:

For the Patties:

 1 pound ground beef

 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
 1 clove garlic, minced
 1 egg
 Salt and pepper to taste
 Cooking oil for frying

For the Gravy:

 2 tablespoons butter
 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
 1 cup beef broth
 1/2 cup milk
 Salt and pepper to taste
 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
 Sliced mushrooms (optional)
 Sliced onions (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Patties:

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic,
egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into burger patties. You can make
them round or oval-shaped, depending on your preference.
3. Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat and add a little cooking oil.
4. Cook the burger patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they are cooked to your
desired level of doneness. Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.

2. Prepare the Gravy:

5. In the same skillet, add the butter and let it melt.

6. Add the flour and whisk continuously to create a roux. Cook for 1-2 minutes until the
roux is lightly browned.
7. Gradually pour in the beef broth and milk while continuing to whisk. This will form a
smooth gravy.
8. If you're using sliced mushrooms or onions, add them to the gravy at this point.
9. Season the gravy with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Adjust the
seasoning to taste.
10. Simmer the gravy for about 5-7 minutes, or until it thickens to your desired consistency.
If the gravy becomes too thick, you can add a little more broth or milk to thin it out.

3. Serve:

11. Return the cooked burger patties to the skillet with the gravy. Simmer for a few more
minutes to heat everything through.
12. Serve the burger steak patties with the mushroom and onion gravy poured over the top.
13. Burger steak is often served with rice or mashed potatoes. You can also add steamed
vegetables or a side salad for a complete meal.

Enjoy your homemade burger steak with mushroom and onion gravy!
