Dear Internship Director,

I am writing to apply for the internship position under the Digital India Internship Scheme this
summer. I am writing to you about the as a Intern in the areas of Geographic Information
System(GIS) and E-Infrastructure for the upcoming summer internship i.e. in the month of June
and July. While visiting your website, I have learned about the internship program with the
Ministry of two months.
I am currently a student pursuing B.Tech (Urban and Regional Technology) 3rd year from Guru
Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. I have received many achievements during my academic
studies which are illustrated in my resume which would be an asset for the intern position.
My faculty teachers-: Dr. Kiran Sandhu and Mrs. Sakshi Sahni Aulakh of the planning
department referred me for this internship as they stated that internship under your program
would be an great opportunity for me to show my skills and adding the knowledge in the field of
urban and regional planning by interacting with people who have large experience and exposure
in this field. This can achieve my goals and career objectives.
This planning internship is ideal for the career path I have chosen. I believe that my skills in
software operations, field survey, data analysis and report compilation will make this internship
program a beneficial experience. By doing internship in your program is the best way to achieve
the goals in the field of urban and regional planning where my professional and personal skills
can be best utilized with contribution towards growth of the organization and individual career
growth.
I have interest in the areas of infrastructure and geographic information system and also I can
operate the MS office softwares like excel, word and powerpoint. I can also operate the AutoCad
2D and 3D modes. Apart from these, I have interest in outdoor games like cricket, badminton
and volley ball.
The technical skills that I have acquired from the during my degree have given me a great deal of
self motivation and leadership skill. In sum, I believe that my education and leadership
experiences would benefit your work considerably were I to be selected for an internship. At the
same time, interning under the ministry program would jumpstart my career in the government
sector. Interning with you would be an incredible opportunity, and I believe I have much to offer
as a planner.
