FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT TASK 1 – YEAR 9 – Humanities

Unit 1: Medicine and Health through Time

Inquiry question: ‘Roman medicine was more advanced than Greek medicine’. To what extent do you agree?

Criterion: A (i, ii), C (i, ii), D (ii)

ATL: Organization skills - Use appropriate strategies for organizing complex information.

Task: Create a 1-2 page infographic in which you compare and contrast features of both Greek and Roman
medicine (including treatment and surgery).
To do this effectively, you should collect a range of relevant information about aspects of medicine in both time
periods based on what you have learnt. At the end of your infographic you should include a conclusion, providing
your overall evaluation of the initial inquiry question.

Remember to pay attention to the quality of your written presentation; it should be clear and well-organised.

Absolutely, yes. You should reference all of your sources and your work should be written in your own words.
Your bibliography should be submitted in the same document as your infographic.
