Implementing Rules and Regulations

Intramurals 2023

General Guidelines

A. Qualifications

1. The Intramural 2023 is open to all bona fide students of General Santos Doctors’
Medical School Foundation, Inc., who were enrolled in the First Semester of the
school year 2023 – 2024.

2. This year's Intramural 2023 theme is, “Conditioned for primness, venturing the
limitless Horizon”

3. There will be Four (4) official teams. The team is as follows:

a. Cabin Zeus – Pharmacy, Radiologic Technology, Psychology, Physical Therapy,


Midwifery
b. Cabin Poseidon – Medical Technology, Senior High School
c. Cabin Hades - Nursing
d. Camp Half-blood – SSC, YGEIA, SCOA, Faculty and Staff.

4. Participants must ensure that they are physically and mentally capable of
performing their chosen event.

B. Requirements

1. Participants must bring their I.D. with them as they signify their presence at their
respective events.

2. The official list of the participants, songs for the singing competition, and music for
the dance competition must be submitted to the Supreme Student Council on their
respective submission dates.

Submission Dates: August 16, 2023

3. All participants are required to report to the designated area twenty (20) minutes
before the event starts. Failure to do so will have a corresponding demerit.

C. Screening Committee
1. The Screening Committee shall be composed of the Student Commission on Audit,
and Supreme Student Council.

2. The following are the duties of the screening committee:

a. To verify the qualifications of each participant.


b. To qualify or disqualify a participant before the start of Intramural 2023.

D. Scoring System

1. The Intramural 2023 will utilize the following scoring system.

E. Official Tabulator

1. The Student Commission on Audit (SCOA) will serve as the official tabulating committee
during the Intramural 2023.

2. The following are the functions of the Student Commission on Audit as official
tabulators for the Intramural 2023:

a. They are the ones who will interpret the guidelines for all events for the purpose of
tabulation.

b. They have the authority to solve, collect, and deduct results with the official
Implementing Rules and Regulations as their basis.

c. They are allowed to access all the results for the entire Intramural 2023.

d. They are responsible for the confidentiality, and integrity of the results.

F. Protest Procedure

a. Concerns, issues, and violations should be addressed by the Team Head or


Department Presidents to the Supreme Student Council Officers. Proper
etiquette in addressing your concerns or issues must be strictly observed.

b. A written protest must be made by the Team Head or Department President


before the announcement of the result. The letter must be addressed to the
OSA.

c. A protest will be given a time and subject for deliberation.

d. The written protest will be evaluated by the OSA, Supreme Student Council, and
Student Commission on Audit together with the chairman of the Judges or
Umpire of the said event and Team Head or Department Presidents.
e. All protest must be addressed within the day an inconvenience happened.

f. Any form of protest/s beyond the prescribed form will not be recognized by the
council.

G. Merits and Demerits

a. The Supreme Student Council together with the Office of Student Affairs may
impose merits or demerits.

b. Failure to follow the set of instructions given in our Implementing Rules and
Regulations for the General guidelines and Specific guidelines (Sociocultural,
Socio-academics, E-sports, Sports, Pageant and Special events will result to 10%
Deduction from the respective event they violated.

Violations as follows:

 Late
 Vulgar Words (Trash talking)
 Improper Dress code for Sport Events (No jersey, wearing of
slippers etc.)
 Undertime or Overtime (for events that have a minimum and
maximum time)
 Players joining the game and are not on the submitted list.

c. In cases of sports that will be played outside the School Premises, a “win by
default” will be applied.
H. Special Instruction

a. Participants are allowed to join multiple events as long as there is no conflict of


schedule for the said events. Moreover, all students are encouraged to join and
have fun at the following events and games prepared by the council.

b. Teams are allowed to use props, provided that they will not cause harm to the
participants or audience, like fire and pyrotechnics, which are not allowed.
Human props and mascots are considered participants.

c. “First come, first serve” policy will be observed.


I. Student Discipline

a. The bringing of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, liquor, or other alcoholic drinks is strictly


prohibited. Anyone caught violating the said rule will be subject to disciplinary
action under the Office of Student Affairs.
EXTEMPORANOUES SPEAKING

1. Each team must have 1 representative either a male or female.

2. The participants will be isolated in a confined room until he or she will be called for the
contest proper.

3. The Master of Ceremony will read the question twice.

4. The participant will be given a 3-minute thinking time, and another 3 minute to deliver his or
her answer.

5. There will only be 1 question for all the participant.

6. In delivering the answer, cues will be given:

a. Green Card - Times Starts!


b. Yellow Card - 1 minute left
c. Red Card - Time is Up!

7. There will be a deduction for exceeding the time limit given.

8. No substitution of the participants is allowed once the event has started.

9. Criteria for Judging:

Speech Contend and Organization 40%

Voice Quality 30%


(Projection, Modulation, Emphasis, Diction)

Poise and Delivery 20%


(Gesture, Facial Expression, Eye Contact,
Appearance)

Overall Impact 10%

Total: 100%
EXTEMPORANOUES SPEAKING

1. Each team must have 1 representative either a male or female.

2. The participants must write his or her own original speech, and should memorized it. Any
participant caught plagiarizing his or her own speech will be automatically be disqualified.

3. The participant will be given a minimum of 4 minutes and a maximum of 6 minutes to deliver
his or her own memorized speech.

4. In delivering the answer, cues will be given:

a. Green Card - Times Starts!


b. Yellow Card – 2 minutes left
c. Red Card - Time is Up!

7. There will be a deduction for exceeding the time limit given.

8. No substitution of the participants is allowed once the event has started.

9. Criteria for Judging:

Speech Contend, Organization and Memorization 40%

Voice Quality 30%
