A brief biography of Hazrat Miya Paisa Sahab of
Hyderabad

Hazrat Miya Paise Sahab was born in Hyderabad, and he left

this mortal world in the year 1246 Hijiri, which corresponds to
1831 A.D. He was brought up in the city. He was a
contemporary of Hazrat Miya Mir Nawab Sahab. And he was a
disciple, a caliph, and pledged at the hands of Hazrat Diwan
Shah Data al-Quaderi. His tomb is situated in the locality of
Ghansi Bazaar.
Hazrat used to live in the locality of Hussaini Alam. He was
mostly in the condition of wandering in absorption, and he was
used to being found in the streets and bazaars of the city.
First event: Once, one lustful rich person was taken by the
Shaikh of time to the house of one prostitute woman in the city.
And at that place, the rich person was engaged in wine with a
woman and eating grilled mince, and Hazrat slept in one corner
of the house.
3

In a drunken state, the rich man asked the prostitute for money
and asked her to commit criminal assault in a naked state with
the Shaikh of the time. Grateful for the money, the prostitute
woman agreed to do a bad deed, and while removing her
clothes, she began to move near Hazrat, and her waist was
suddenly broken. She became handicapped, for which she
repented; she was disabled for the rest of her life, and she was
ashamed of her error. And after this event, Hazrat stopped
wandering in the streets and bazaars of the city.
And he began sitting at the side of the door of the old bridge
(Purana Pul) in Hyderabad. And Hazrat was known among those
who walked by the roadside as Hazrat Miya Paisa, with his
something serving as a question mark.
The second event that happened was that once in Hyderabad,
there was heavy rain and a heavy storm on the river Musi. And
there was much fame and name in mankind for this great
miracle of the Shaikh of Hyderabad; and in such a condition,
Hazrat went to the Purana Pul, and by saying Miya Paise, Miya
Paise, he jumped into the river from the bridge of the Purana
Pul. And with this, the storm in the water in the Musi river
began decreasing slowly, and people thought that surely Hazrat
had died, but by going a distance of four furlongs, Hazrat came
out of the river Musi alive in a safe and secure condition, and he
became a well-known pious person of the mankind. As a result,
this Hazrat gained worldwide fame and recognition, both in
human history and in historical records.
Death: Hazrat left this mortal world in the year 1246 Hijiri,
which corresponds to the year 1831 A.D., during the rule period
of the 4th Nizam of the Hyderabad kingdom, Nawab Nasir Doula
4

Bahadur. He was buried near Purana Pul, where he lived during

his life. One of the poets of Deccan has written the below
couplet in which his date of death is known.

There has never been such a fakir in the world.

He was famous and questioned by God's lover.

Hazrat’s tomb is situated on the road from the old bridge gate on
the north side on a high platform. The tomb has no roof and a
square foot area of 15 feet and 5 inches. And in the inside area,
you'll find a marble floor. And for entry into the tomb, there are
two doors in the east and west directions.
In the tomb, there is only the grave of Hazrat. And it was made
of flint stone, which made it beautiful. And its dimensions are as
follows:
In length, 6 feet 10 inches; in width, 4 feet and 2 inches; and in
height, one foot and 10 inches.
Hazrat's Urs or annual death anniversary: Hazrat’s Urs or
annual death anniversary will be held on 23 and 24 Jamad-
Awwal every year on a regular basis. And the government has
authorized some allowance for the Urs celebration expenses.
The present caretaker and custodian is Tajuddin Khan, who is
among the progeny of the servants of the Shaikh of time. And he
lives next to the house, at the head of Hazrat's tomb.
At this shrine, there will be a meeting place for the recitation of
the eulogy every year in Muharram month, in which there will
5

be a party of the well-known and famous reciters of the eulogy.

There is no tablet in the tomb of the Hazrat in Purana Pul,
Hyderabad.
