infections are in people between the ages of 15 and 24. Young people are at
greater risk of getting an STI for several reasons: Young women’s bodies are

them, by assimilating the risk factor that their lives will be at risk, assimilating the
changes, facing treatments, combat stigmas and prejudices placed by society due
to misinformation and lack of empathy, among others. Each of these processes
involves processing key adaptation points. STIs will undoubtedly leave a great
mark on pregnant women.
A sexually transmitted infections can complicate the pregnancy and may have
serious effects on both the pregnancy woman and her’s developing baby. Some of
these problems may be seen at birth; others may not be discovered until months or
years later. In addition, it is well known that infection with an STI can make it easier
for a person to get infected with HIV. Most of these problems can be prevented.
