A STUDY ON YOUTH’S PREFERENCE TOWARDS MOBILE

PAYMENTS IN BANGALORE

Abstract
This study examines the preferences of young individuals towards mobile payments in
Bangalore. Mobile payments have gained popularity due to their convenience and accessibility,
allowing users to make transactions using their smartphones instead of cash or cards. The study
aims to understand the factors influencing the preferences of young people towards mobile
payments, including convenience, security, and flexibility. It also investigates the challenges
faced by young users, such as limited access to mobile devices, digital literacy, security
concerns, limited adoption by businesses, and financial constraints. The research methodology
includes data collection through a questionnaire distributed to mobile payment users in
Bangalore, and descriptive analysis is used to analyse the data. The findings reveal that a
majority of respondents are aware of and satisfied with mobile payments, with convenience
and security being the main drivers for adoption. The study provides insights for businesses,
financial institutions, and policymakers to enhance the usability and acceptance of mobile
payment apps among young users.
