KEY PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 2:6-16

This passage is written by Paul to the church in Corinth. This passage focuses on

the wisdom more importantly the wisdom that of God. He wrote in this letter what

wisdom to impart and how can one teach about wisdom that comes from God. He always

emphasize on the role of the Holy Spirit towards wisdom. The passage tells us that only

through the Holy Spirit we can speak of the wisdom that of God. Not only speak of it but

we can also understand the wisdom that of God through the Holy Spirit and discernment

only through the Holy Spirit.

As a Christian, we are called to be a spirit-filled sons and daughters of God. Our

life is called to that of Christ, which is our goal to be a Christlike disciple in its entirety,

the mind, the body, the soul and the spirit. We are also called to seek the wisdom that of

God and live a life living in the Word. In this passage it tells us a very unique process of

teaching-learning that can only be done by Christian educators and that is through the

Holy Spirit. This process happens when there is a relationship between Jesus Christ and

the teacher/learner, allowing the Holy Spirit to live and work in one’s life. Sometimes

this process could be done immediately, on going or even longer span of time and in

unique variety of ways that is it hard to quantify or measure through assessments that we

usually do. There are manifestations that we could identify in the process and some

practical determinants which aims in the transformation of the holistic being of a person.

Moreover this wisdom that of God is necessary in education and is foundational

as Christian Educators. We are ought to impart wisdom to our learners or to the people as

well as seek wisdom that comes from God. Our teaching should be spirit-filled driven so
that we can explain and understand the things God has freely given to us. Being sensitive

by the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives as educators plays a vital and necessary role in

molding the minds, hearts, body, soul and spirit of our learners from every walks of life.

Having a mind that of Christ and being Christlike is what we envisioned for everyone not

only to the learner as well as the educators. As it is a continuous journey process towards

transformational learning.
