Pastor Appreciation Month is a special time set aside to recognize and support pastoral staff and their families.
In case you think Pastor Appreciation was initiated by Hallmark to sell more cards, consider the words of the
apostle Paul in his letter to Timothy.
“Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching
and teaching.” 1 Timothy 5:17
The gravity of the call to pastoral ministry on one’s life is expressed well by the writer of Hebrews.
“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have
to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to
you.” Hebrews 13:17
Eastmont is blessed with a great group of men who take seriously the call to lead us to be faithful followers of
Christ and to advance the Kingdom of God. While serving God through Eastmont brings a great deal of joy,
there is no doubt that there are also great burdens as they walk through dark days with members, confront sin,
and make decisions that will influence the future of Eastmont and her impact on our community and the
Kingdom.
How can we show them our appreciation? Here are a few practical ways.
• Pray for their spiritual, mental, and physical health
• Respect their time with their families and love their families well
• Avoid grumbling, complaining, and criticizing
• Serve alongside them
• Speak well of them and of Eastmont
• Bestow upon them random acts of kindness throughout the year

Nomination ballots are
available in the lobby of the
worship center, in the long hall,
and outside the church office.
Please be sure to read the
qualifications listed on the
nomination ballot and talk to
the man you want to
nominate before submitting.
Nominations must be
submitted by October 31.
In celebration of Veterans Day,
Eastmont invites those in our church
family who are veterans, along with
their spouse, to a breakfast in their
honor on Sunday, November 12th at
8:00 am in Fellowship Hall.
Reservations are not required, but
helpful for planning. Reservations may
be made on the Events page of our
Sunday, November 12 website, on the Church Center app, or
8:00 am by calling the church office.
