So our lesson for today is on
how we manage our ways at
home and by applying the 5R’s
Technique.
What are the different ways of
managing waste?
There are strategies that can be
used in handling waste materials
found in our home and
community. This technique is
composed of Five (5) ways we
can manage our wastes and
knows as the 5R’s.
(1) Reducing – decreasing the
number of materials to be used,
for example, using alternative
materials such as eco-bags
instead of plastic cellophane to
minimize wastes from plastics;
(2) Reusing – to use again the
materials for the same purpose
Looking back on the techniques that
we discussed yesterday.
5R’s Techniques give a huge help in
lessening waste at home.
What should one do to manage
waste?
Ways management is very important.
What is management?
Management is the process of
planning and organizing anything.
What is wastes?
Wastes refer to used or consumed
products or materials.
The 5R’s of waste management is the
modern way of organizing garbage
and waste materials. The focus of
5R’s waste management is to:
1. promote a clean and healthy
environment
2. transform garbage into something
useful

Based on the given picture above,
we can manage our waste by
applying the R’s technique.
Waste management is
implemented anywhere in order to
clean the environment and make
everyone healthy. Surely, you do
not want to live a place full of
garbage and wastes. Aside from
their foul smell, we do not want to
get sick because of them.
Now, think of some situations in
your home or community that you
have observed or experienced that
use the 5Rs techniques. Have you
practiced using the 5Rs techniques
at home? In your community? If
yes, you and your family are
certainly caring for the
