2nd Semester

1.

My last business trip was to New York City for a conference. I flew from Los
Angeles to JFK airport and took a taxi to my hotel in Midtown Manhattan. The
conference was held at the Javits Convention Center and I was able to walk to the
venue from my hotel.

The conference went really well and I was able to network with a lot of people in
my industry. However, the hotel I stayed at was not very comfortable. The room
was small and the air conditioning was not working properly. I had trouble
sleeping because of the heat and the noise from the street outside.

Overall, the trip was a success because I was able to make some valuable
connections and learn a lot from the conference. However, I wish I had chosen a
better hotel or at least one with better air conditioning .

2.

A bad experience I had when I bought something was when I purchased a dress
from a local boutique. When I got home and tried the dress on, I realized that it
didn't fit me properly. I went back to the store to exchange it, but the salesperson
was rude and unhelpful. They refused to give me a refund or an exchange, even
though the dress still had the tags on and I had the receipt. It was a frustrating
experience and I learned to be more careful when buying clothes in person.

Taxi company: We're sorry to hear that. Can you please give us your name and
phone number so we can look into this?

You: My name is Denisa and my phone number is 2222-222-222.

Taxi company: Thank you. We're checking the status of your taxi now. We're sorry
for the delay.

You: It's really frustrating. I have an important meeting to get to and I'm going to
be late now.

Taxi company: We understand how you feel. We'll do our best to get a taxi to you
as soon as possible.

You: I hope so. I don't want to miss my meeting.

Taxi company: We've located a taxi in your area and it should be with you in the
next few minutes.

You: Finally! Thank you for your help.

Taxi company: We apologize again for the inconvenience. We hope you have a
safe and pleasant journey.
