As consumers, we have the right to safety and this means that the product we buy must be safe to use. It must be tested
and carry warning labels if necessary. As consumers, we have the responsibility to use the product safely. This refers to reading
and following all instructions stated in the instruction manual. Many products we buy come with instruction manuals. Yet,
many do not read them.
We also have the right to be informed. It is the company’s responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information about
the product for the consumers. They have the right to voice their complaints and concerns about having safer goods. In the
past, there was no protection from a company that produces products that are of low quality but today consumers’ safety is
protected by laws. It is the consumer’s right to complain if he or she has bought a defective or an unsafe product.
