When the sun heats water in oceans, rivers and lakes, the water turns into vapor and

rises to
the sky as clouds.

It is as if the water is hiding in the clouds. This process is called evaporation.

In condensation, clouds are made up of very small water droplets that come together when
the water vapor cools.

When water droplets in the clouds gather together and become heavy enough, they fall back
to Earth as rain, snow, or hail. This process is called precipitation. It's like the clouds are
crying.

The sun continues to heat the water on Earth, and the cycle begins again. Water
evaporates from rivers, lakes, soil and plant leaves, rises to the sky, forms clouds, rains
and so on.

It's a cycle that never stops and provides us with water to drink, water plants, and
many other important things!

So the water cycle is like a great dance in which water rises to the sky, then falls as
rain, and rises to the sky again and again.

Carbon dioxide has increased on Earth over time, and that is affecting water and
everything around it.

Mrs. Ramírez, what is carbon dioxide?

The increase in carbon dioxide due to human action has caused climate change.

Carbon dioxide is a gas that we produce when we breathe and plants use it. It is
important not to produce too much carbon dioxide to keep our planet healthy and
happy.

Now, let’s discover the impact on water!

So let's help take care of freshwater on our planet!

Welcome to AquaDrops, a new learning adventure awaits you! Help us protect our
water against the effects of global warming.

What’s Happening?

A man is cutting down a tree, which causes issues such as reduced water infiltration,
increased erosion risk, disruption of the evaporation and transpiration cycle,
changes in river flows, and loss of aquatic biodiversity.

A car is generating air pollution, which affects environmental conditions that can
hinder cloud formation and water condensation in the atmosphere, and increases
greenhouse gas concentrations, such as carbon dioxide (CO2).

A group of people throw their garbage into the rivers; The contamination of these
waters by garbage can put at risk the security of the drinking water supply for
several communities.
