SPECIMEN: FNAC of Submandibular LN

MACROSCOPY:
Right cervical lymphadenopathy. Non tender x 1yr duration measuring 5.0 x 4.0 x 3.0cm in 2 places of
the right side of the neck. There is no associated fever or night sweat but positive history of weight loss.

MICROSCOPY:
Smear preparations show aggregates of epithelioid histiocytes with lymphocytes and plasma cells.
There are areas of necrosis seen in the background. No atypical cell seen.

DIAGNOSIS:
FNAC- RIGHT CERVICAL LYMPH NODE: GRANULOMATOUS
INFLAMMATION, MOST PROBABLY DUE TO TUBERCULOSIS.
