PFM Workshop for MMDAs to Prevent Adverse Audit Findings

It has been observed that several MMDAs fail to achieve the

minimum requirements on the DDF Assessments due to audit
findings. Other MMDAs even though they meet the
requirements fail to respond and address audit findings as
required. All these have been traced to lack of effective
financial monitoring.
Even though CAGD is mandated to undertake regular financial
monitoring in various MDAs and MMDAs, lack of resources
does not allow the Department to effectively and regularly carry
out this service.
In this light DACF-RFG provided funding to enable the
Department carry out two 2 day training workshop to ensure
that all 16 RCCs help in all MMDAs in improving their financial
management requirements with regard to:

1. Complete and accurate recording of accounting

transactions
2. Filing all payment vouchers
3. Acquitting ALL vouchers with required documents.
4. Timely preparation and submission of financial reports
5. Responding to and addressing all audit observations
6. Ensuring the acquisition and usage of approved
Accounting software
7. Usage of GIFMIS in processing all financial Transactions
8. Challenges in GIFMIS usage
9. Lodgement of all revenue generated before expending
10.Receipting all revenue collected with approved GCR and
accounting for all IGF, DONOR FUNDS CONSOLIDATED FUNDS AND
ALL OTHER STATUTORY FUNDS on timely basis
and Selected MMDAs who were identified as having
challenges in the use of GIFMIS have been invitated to
participate in the training workshop.
