4TH NATURE ETHICS

Natures is significant in our environment and integral parts of a mankind, and it is one of the
greatest gifts from our almighty one. The nature is everything we surrounded by just like by the
animals, the water we drink, the air we breathe in, the plants that source of foods such as fruits,
vegetables, the wood we use for various purposes, and others to provide the mankind needs, all
these following are the gift of nature. However, the humankind fails to recognize it and did not
appreciate and value the nature. There is an environmental problem that destroy the wealth of the
nature such as killing animals, illegal mining, dynamite fishing, that can cause climate change
and biodiversity loss. We need to understand our situation tracing the beginning of ecological
problems in our communities. Therefore, we should create an ambiguous relationship of men and
nature and should have a strong desire and have knowledge of what to do.
One of the speakers in the seminar entitled 4 th ethics Nature Dr. Amerkhan M. Cabaro narrate a
story about his observation. He is driving home in Iligan and concentrated on his driving. He saw
a car that the window was open and the person inside throw a garbage on the street. The moral
story of this is we should not tolerate this kind of behavior; this is an undesirable. There is a lot
of ethical issues, ethics requires us a deeper understanding of human condition. Ethics has the
law of doing good and bad way are connected to doing what the law says. We must have a strong
insight and knowledge. The scientist warning us about the global warming that we need to act
immediately to save our mother nature. We human beings needs to grasp situation in all things
and help each other.
The introduction keynote speaker named, Dr. Ruby S. Suazo. He mentioned some member of
philosopher, Francisco Bacon that he was interested in the world. Science is value of frame that
learn a fact. He also said Post Modernity that emphasize the role of language and understanding
of reality and challenges the rational progress of universal truth. Work is human capacity to
create object and action is the realm of human plurality.
The plenary lecturer Atty. Hamid Aminoddin D. Barra addressed “Islamic Concept on the
Environment”. He said that Islam is really means peace and security. In Islam it is required to
perform the five fillars of Islam, A faith dedication to belief, and it is required to pray five times
a day, fasting a Ramadhan, giving a charity to poor people, perform a hajj to mecca. We must to
look ourselves brother in faith and brother in humanity, our life in this dunia (world) is
temporary. We need to conquer and do some good in our environment. Islam is universal thing
and man is created to be a khalifah (The ruler). From this Islam is consider each individual as a
steward of the environment to the extent that the planting and maintaining is serve as an act of
faith. There is a reason why Islam recommended to plant a tree: we are responsible for what
Allah has created and give us in this world. Thus, we need to plant a tree and taking care of the
environment serve as a faith and acceptance blessing given by Allah. Trees in Islam Mohammad
Prophet (Messenger of the god) said: “ A Muslim who plant a trees or sows a field, which man ,
birds and animal can eat, is committing an act of charity”. Therefore, when a believer plants a
tree and animals ate from it, or any living things, will be given a reward by Allah as number of
fruits it produces will serve as charity its benefits others even after death.
Above all, “The 4th ETHICS for Nature” seminar clearly, emphasize and raise about awareness
and consciousness of ecological issues. The nature of the entire area is yours and ours, our
future. The nature does not need human, can live without a human while human cannot live
without nature. Therefore, if we want to improve our future. We should learn, organize, and
protect our mother nature. I have learned from this seminar is we need to know what ethical
issues is: what is right to do and bad to do in the environment and have virtuous, good characters
through our action and as a human being living on this earth must to know the responsibility in
this environment, be compassion and generosity.
