Studying a national hero's life is crucial because it illuminates society's historical,

cultural, and social evolution. A national hero represents a nation's difficulties, objectives, and
ideals for future generations. Learning about their forefathers' values may foster solidarity and
pride. National heroes often led liberty, justice, and social change movements. By studying their
lives, we can learn from their triumphs and failures to solve today's problems.

R.A. 1425, generally known as the Rizal Law, aligns with the goals that led to its passage.
The law, which bears Dr. Jose Rizal's name in honor of the national hero of the Philippines,
requires that the life and works of Rizal and his writings be taught in schools. This legislative
initiative aims to foster patriotism, a feeling of national identity, and critical thinking in young
Filipinos. The law intends to cultivate an informed populace that actively engages with the
country's history and socio-political context by forcing pupils to study Rizal's writings, which are
rich in themes of freedom, social justice, and enlightenment.

In essence, the Rizal Law is a valuable tool for fostering a sense of civic responsibility
among citizens and promoting cultural heritage while safeguarding historical memory. Filipino
students are equipped to effect good change by studying Dr. Jose Rizal's life and becoming
familiar with the concepts he upheld by becoming examples of justice, equality, and nation-
building. Therefore, the Rizal Law serves as evidence of the influence of education in forming
the general public's consciousness and fostering a country's development.
