5. State five lessons that we can learn from the life of Jose Rizal. Explain each.

These are some lessons that we can get in Rizal’s life. First, Focus on your goal, fighting injustice in
society was Rizal’s sole motto. Night and day, all he dreamed of was to free fellow Filipinos. Rizal
became a leader of the reformist movement called Propaganda, an unwavering campaign for political
and social freedoms. It tells us that if you want to reach your targets, bring your focus to the goals and
keep working until you achieve it. Second, keep personal life away from work, it is important to keep
distractions away from every workday. Rizal was so centered around the work that he didn't permit
friends and family or even his own inclinations or feelings come in the manner. Third, manage your time
properly, Rizal spent much of his time in self-improvement via self-education. Not only was he busy
academically, but he also learned sculpture, painting, languages including German, and kept up with the
latest conversations globally in philosophy and science. Good time management enables you to work
smarter – not harder – so that you get more done in less time, even when time is tight and pressures are
high. Fourth, fight for our country, just like Rizal did is about being loyal to your fellow Filipinos in times
of crisis. It is being unafraid to do what is right. It is contributing to the wellbeing of the community.
Finally, it is about the love of your neighbors and how you and they together can contribute to make this
nation vibrant and progressive. In Dapitan, even though he won the lottery, he relinquished all his
winnings to build light and water infrastructure, and a school for fellow citizens, where he taught as well
as offered free medical treatment.
