1. “Stay”. I waited. “Have some tea, I can show you the garden.” The garden was as big as
park, but Stephen Hawking covered every inch, rumbling along in his motorized
wheelchair while I dodged to keep out of the way. We couldn’t talk very much;

Firdaus Kanga visited Britain in order to write a book about his travels. He could move only
in a wheel-chair. Following the advice of his guide, Kanga planned to meet the most brilliant and
completely paralysed astrophysicist (Hawking) in Cambridge.

2. What is the scientist’s message for the disabled?


The scientist Stephen Hawking’s message for the disabled is they should concentrate on what
they are good at. They should make the best use of their talent and they must thank God.

3. What is the moral of the story “A visit to Cambridge”?


The story helps us to understand how the world perceives physical disability and how one
often patronizes a disables person. It helps us break our preconceived notion about disabled
persons. It also inspires us to focus on talent.

1. Write the Summary of “A Visit to Cambridge” by Firdaus Kanga.


The author shares his experience in England at Cambridge University where he met Stephen
William Hawking, a distinguished astrophysicist.The author was surprised to see Hawking who was
supported by a machine. When asked about being courage, Hawking replied that he had no other
option than to be brave. In Kanga’s notion, Hawking appears to be the most beautiful man in the
world. Hawking agreed that there is a lack of humility and kindness in human. The interview came
to an end with a piece of advice. Physical handicap cannot be a limitation to achieve something
great.
