INTRODUCTION (at least one page of text)

The introduction should briefly picture the subject of the study and highlight why
it is important. It should name the goal of the diploma and its meaning. You should
become acquainted with the state of research, epidemiology. You can refer to the most
important contemporary scientific reports. You should remember to make the introduction
understandable for readers that don’t know too much about your study’s subject.

Exemplary paragraph composition:

A few words about the disease entity, epidemiology etc. A few words about
professional functions of a nurse given the subject. A few words as a summary on why the
student decided to elaborate on that subject.

The goal of the research was to ...

Study has been divided into ... main parts, first of them being made of
chapters/information about the … Part two .... third experimental part……

The study is finished with a summary, literature and an addendum.

5
I. THEORETICAL PART (14, embolden, spacing 1,5, paragraph 0
pts)

This part is advised, as it refers particularly to nurse’s actions towards patient with a
certain disease entity

1. ............... – characteristics of the disease (14, embolden, spacing

1,5, paragraph 0 pts)
Every new thought starts with an indentation (Tab key), font: Times New Roman,
size 12, spacing 1,5, justified text. Paragraph ends with a source in square brackets [2].
Chapter/subchapter should take at least one full page size A4.

Tables
Tables should be consistent (colour, style). Every abbreviation used in the table should be
explained under it. Tables should be described above them and numbered with arabic
numerals. We number the tables using function called REFERENCES  INSERT
SIGNATURE, so that later on it will be possible to automatically generate the list of
tables.

EXAMPLE:

Table 1. Blood pressure classification

AR category Systolic Diastolic

Correct pressure 120–129 mmHg 80–84 mmHg
High correct pressure 130–139 mmHg 85–89 mmHg
First degree hypertension 140–159 mmHg 90–99 mmHg
Second degree hypertension 160–179 mmHg 100–109 mmHg

AR - symbol used to mark arterial pressure, mmHg – millimetres of mercury

Drawings/Charts
Drawings/Charts should be described under the drawing/chart and numbered with Arabic
numerals. We number drawings/charts using function REFERENCES INSERT
SIGNATURE, so that later on it will be possible to automatically generate the list of
Drawings.

Abbreviations and symbols

Only standard abbreviations and symbols should be used. The full explanation of a term or
a symbol should precede its first abbreviation in the text and appear in every figure’s and
table’s key, where it’s used. A list of abbreviations used in the work should be placed on
the title page/ in dedications.
