INTRODUCTION

Time management is viewed as an all-encompassing process carried out through administrative

responsibilities that is heavily reliant on high personal abilities and skills in order to have positive
effects on society and individuals at the same time. However, all of this must be limited to a specific
time frame in order to force people to adjust to current and future events. (Alghamdi, 2008, p30). It
is critical to emphasize (Alsalmi, 2008, p25) that the more the organization is able to manage time
properly, the more it meets its goals correctly and on schedule.

Time management is a very important topic because it is essential to succeed at all stages of life, and
because of this, the phrase is closely related to administrative work. Despite its importance,
managing one's own time is never simple, necessitating both specialized training and a wide range of
interpersonal skills. In addition to utilizing the resources at hand to simultaneously meet the
requirements of society and individuals, and having the flexibility to adapt to both present and
future circumstances (Alghamdi, 2008, p 49).

In a student's busy schedule, time management can be quite helpful. In order to manage their
everyday lives and turn in their academic assignments on time, it makes sure that students are well-
prepared, organized, and focused. Although it can increase achievement, this is a talent that
students must acquire and hone. For students to develop effective time management techniques,
they must change their habits. This is only possible if students take the initiative to identify their
issues. Effective time prioritization is a key component of good time management.

Setting new personal objectives and working toward them with a positive attitude are two ways to
do this. Procrastination is another terrible habit that kids need to break. Students need to learn how
to work efficiently, rather than pushing too hard and failing to retain anything. Sometimes it's best
for students to study for a couple of hours before taking a break to relax. It's a good idea to take
breaks when you start to feel frustrated. The brain cannot handle too much information at once due
to information overload. Students' time management abilities will advance with practice if they are
driven and self-disciplined.

I.2 Statement of the Problem

Education is regarded as the initial stage in all human endeavor in the age of globalization and
technological transformation. It is crucial for the growth of human capital and is associated with a
person's well-being and prospects for a better quality of life. (Battle & Lewis, 2002). It guarantees
that people acquire the information and abilities necessary to boost their productivity and enhance
their quality of life. This rise in productivity also creates new revenue streams, which boosts a
nation's economic development. (Saxton, 2000). Time management is essential for raising students'
academic achievement and performance. Every student should be able to manage their time well,
which includes defining objectives and priorities, using time management tools, and being well-
organized.

In underdeveloped nations where students frequently have difficulties in their academic careers, a
fresh narrative can help the researcher unearth far more fascinating findings. According to empirical
studies conducted in the past, time management techniques have an effect on students' academic
performance. Despite being aware of how time affects academic performance, students do not
prioritize this link (Sevari & Kandy, 2011). As a result, time management has a big impact on
students' life, especially those who are enrolled in Senior High Schools without parental or teacher
supervision. It is preferable to carry out studies to raise general understanding about how time
management affects students and others. The main objective of this study is to investigate how the
senior high school students of Bayambang National High School’s academic performance is impacted
by their time management strategies.
