The document presents a concept paper for an investigatory project to create a homemade wind vane. It introduces wind vanes as instruments that measure wind direction and are used to predict weather conditions. The objectives are to create a wind vane using homemade materials and test if it works. The methodology outlines the materials needed like pens, straw, paper plates and glue. It provides step-by-step instructions to assemble the wind vane and means to document the finished product and testing. In conclusion, the document states it is possible to make a wind vane with common household items but recommends research first.

CONCEPT PAPER FOR THE INVESTIGATORY PROJECT (RESEARCH-BASED)
WIND VANE GROUP 4
I. INTRODUCTION According to Anne Kamiya (Researcher), a wind vane is a non-symmetrical weather instrument that measures wind direction. We know that the direction of wind contributes to the changing weather conditions. It's used to predict the intensity of storms. It is used in disaster management to protect people from strong winds. As we were intrigued by this research, we wanted to try and make our wind vane with our own materials CITATION: https://study.com/learn/lesson/wind-vane-history-uses-facts.html II. METHODOLOGY 2.1 OBJECTIVES 1. TO CREATE OUR WIND VANE. 2. TO TEST IF THE WIND VANE WORKS EVEN IF WE USE OUR MATERIALS.
2.2 MATERIALS COLOR PENS DRINKING STRAW PAPER PLATES (2PCS) HARD PAPER PIN GLUE PENCIL
2.3 PROCEDURES/MECHANICS IN DOING THE PRODUCT
Step 1: Write the 4 cardinal directions.
Step 2: Draw and decorate.
Step 3: Make an arrow.
Step 4: Measure and cut the straw (16cm).
Step 5: Insert the pin in the center of the straw.
Step 6: Cut a slit on both ends of the straw.
Step 7: Insert the arrowhead and tail.
Step 8: Use clay to make the base.
Step 9: Use glue to stick the 2 paper plates together.
Step 10: Put the pin into the pencil eraser. Step 11: Press the pencil into the center of the plate. 2.4 DOCUMENTATIONS/PROOF (PICTURE AS EVIDENCE THAT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO MADE THE PRODUCT, VIDEO FOR THE ACTUAL TESTING OF THE PRODUCT)
II. CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION (OPTIONAL)
In conclusion, it is possible to make your own wind vane with materials you can find in your house. But we recommend doing research before making one so you have the knowledge you need to use it.
