Guidelines to Students for online examinations

1. Students should take Exams only with Laptop / Desktop with WEBCAM & SPEAKERS
working throughout examination. It is students’ responsibility to arrange the same.

2. Students should ensure uninterrupted internet facility and electricity power supply.

3. Students are required to write the enrollment id, Course code and page number on each page
of the answer sheet.

4. Students are required to join the examination Zoom link at least 10 minutes before
commencement of examination.

5. Students having trouble accessing their online exam should contact the invigilators and
rectify the problem as early as possible to avoid difficulties during the exams.

6. At the beginning of the exam, 10-15 minutes before the exam time, the invigilator will
verify the identity of the student by comparing the ID card shown with the person in front
of the camera and also with data provided by the students.
7. Students must add their full name in a clear and decent picture in the zoom profile so that
Identity of the student could be recognized easily.

8. The student should not move from the front of the monitor/camera after the verification of
the identity. Students are not to leave their place till the end of the exam. There is no
washroom permission. No other person is allowed in the room where the student will be
giving his/her examination.

9. With respect to uploading answer script,

a. An extra 10 minutes will be given to students after completion of exam to scan &
upload the handwritten document. Please note you are monitored for doing the same
and any attempt to write after the end of exam will be considered as unfair practice.

b. It is the responsibility of the student to maintain a good quality of Scan answer copy.

c. Any kind of blurred /hazy/unclear scanning and uploading will lead to improper
evaluation.

d. File should be less than 10 MB.

10. Students will be continuously monitored by faculty members through Zoom using
Webcam. Link for which is provided in ILS-Flow chart online examinations, which will
be shared soon.

11. Students are expected to uphold Standards of academic integrity and honesty all
throughout the duration of Examination.

12. Students are expected to mute/turn off their microphone all through the entire
examination duration and keep their Web cam in Turn On mode all through the entire
examination duration.

13. Indicative instances (not complete list) of unfair practices:

a. The student moves away from the front of the monitor/camera after the verification of
the identity.

b. The eyes of the student should not move beyond the monitor during the course of the
examination. Seeing beyond the monitor will be considered an unfair practice.

c. If any other person comes within the view of the camera during the exam, the
student’s examinations will be cancelled and the registration of the course may also be
cancelled.

d. Use of mobile or any other electronic device during the examination

e. The students calling or texting anyone


f. During a descriptive question paper exam for a student opting to write using pen &
paper, any attempt to write after the end of examination will be considered as unfair
practice. The time of 10 minutes after the exam are given for scanning & uploading
the answer script

14. Do’s and Don’ts for the online exam using Laptop/Desktop

Do’s

a. Charge the Laptop well in advance


b. Clear Cache (Laptop and Desktop)https://clear-my-cache.com/en/windows.html
c. Keep the browser updated(Chrome/Mozilla/Explorer)
d. Only one window should be opened in web browser
Don’t’s
e. Do not switch window / open any other window
f. Don’t use mobile phone without permission
g. Do not use headphones/Earphones
h. Do not press refresh button
i. Do not resort to any sort of malpractice during the exam like using WhatsApp,
electronic gadgets etc.

15. Should anyone find difficulty during the examination, the student may raise his/her to
seek the permission of the invigilator and communicate through a chat box.

Steps for Scanning answer sheets


1. Install Adobe scan from Google Play.
2. Click on “Document “mode.
3. Scan page by page in black and white or gray color.
4. Rename the file as {Enrollment No} _
{subjectname}. For Example:
17FLICDDN01101_Intellectualproperty
5. Click on “Save as Pdf”
6. Click on Share
7. Click on “Share a copy”
8. Send to your email.
9. Click on “after completing writing off the answer click here to upload” the above text
color will show in Red.
10. Upload the file
11. Click submit
12. You will be getting automatic response from the server
