INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATE


1. The candidate must bring printout of the Admit Card to the allocated examination centre on the Date and Time mentioned
above along with one colour photograph and ORIGINAL VALID PHOTO IDENTIFICATION CARD (preferably as mentioned
in admit card) for verification. The Admissible PHOTO IDENTIFICATION CARD are Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of
e-Aadhaar, Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Valid Identity Card issued by School / College / University, SSLC/HSC mark
sheet with photo).
2. Photocopied, scanned or expired the ID proof will not be allowed.
3. No candidate will be allowed in the examination centre without valid Admit Card and Photo Identification Card (in original).
4. Candidate should affix a recent Passport size (3.5cm X 4.5cm) colour Photograph in the space provided on the Admit
Card for attestation at examination venue.
5. The candidate should ensure that all the information on this Admit Card including photograph, signature and barcode are
clearly visible on the printout.
6. Candidate will be permitted to appear for the examination only after their credentials are verified by centre officials. If the
details/information in the Admit Card are found to be mutilated/tampered with, and / or are in disagreement with the
candidate’s particulars available with the examination centre-in-charge, the candidates will not be permitted to appear for the
examination.
7. In case of any discrepancy in the Admit Card information, please contact our helpdesk immediately.
8. Mere issuing of Admit card does not confer any right to be eligible for the post. Candidate is informed that his/her candidature
is purely provisional and subject to the condition that the candidate has fulfilled all the eligibility conditions as mentioned in the
Information Brochure on the website https://www.barcocesexam.in such as academic qualification, category etc., as
mentioned in his/her online application which is subject to verification in the consecutive stages of the selection process.
Candidature is liable to be cancelled at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, in case any inconsistency is noticed.
9. Candidate shall sign in the space provided in the Admit Card only in the presence of the invigilator.
10. Candidate must report at the examination centre on scheduled reporting date and time mentioned on Admit Card. The
reporting time for the candidate is well in advance to the examination start time indicated on the Admit Card in order to
complete activities such as verification of the candidate, capture of photo, announcement of instructions and logging in etc.
11. No candidate will be allowed to enter the Exam centre after “Entry closing time for the date and batch indicated on the Admit
Card.
12. This Admit Card is valid only for the examination date, batch and time as specified therein. No request for change in
examination date/session/centre/city will be considered under any circumstances.
13. Candidate is advised to keep a copy of Admit card.
14. Candidate is required to submit his/her admit card to invigilator before leaving examination hall, non submission of the Admit
Card will lead to cancellation of his/her candidature.
15. Candidate will not be permitted to leave the examination hall before the end of the examination.
16. Candidate is advised to locate the examination centre and its accessibility at least a day before the examination, so that
he/she can reach the centre on time for the examination.
17. Possession of books, notes, bits of papers, pen, geometry/pencil box, plastic pouch, pencil, scale, log table, writing
pad, eraser, cardboard, electronics devices, smart watch, wrist watch, fitness band, wallet, goggles, handbags,
mobile phones, pagers, earphones, microphones, camera, headphones, pen-drives, tablet, Bluetooth devices,
calculator, debit/credit card, electronic pen/scanners, water bottle, food & beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic),
arms/weapon, metallic wears, bangles, belts, bracelets, fitness devices, tablets, laptops, etc. and any objectionable
item is strictly prohibited in the examination premises and it will be treated as unfair means. In case of non-
compliance, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and a suitable legal action in addition, may also be initiated.
18. Any candidate found in possession of any unauthorized material or indulging in copying/ impersonation/ adopting unfair
means / misbehavior/indiscipline shall entail disciplinary action including cancellation of candidature.
19. There is no safekeeping or locker arrangement for candidate’s belongings. BARC will not be responsible for its safe custody. It
is advised not to bring such items as mentioned above at point no. 17.
20. On-screen calculator will be provided.
21. Questions and options will be available in English language only. For the benefit of candidates, a mock test for familiarization
& practice with CBT is available
22. The facility of scribes will be allowed to candidate only if she/he will submit the requisite documents during the examination.
Candidate is required to bring his/her own scribe at his/her own cost and choice.
23. Those PwD Candidate who is eligible for compensatory time and scribe, is required to bring following documents:-
a. Certificate regarding medical proof of disability issued by the competent medical authority.
b. Declaration/Undertaking by Person with Disabilities (Pwd) Candidates who wish to use Scribe.

25. All Covid-19 protocols will be implemented at each centre during the examination and shall be relaxed based on guidelines
issued time to time by Government of India.
26. Candidate needs to make his/her own travel and stay arrangements for attending the examination.

a. The exam would be computer based in which the questions are displayed on computer monitor and candidates are
required to select the correct option using mouse.
b. User Id and password for Computer Based Test (CBT) will be provided to the candidate 10 minutes before
commencement of the test/exam at their respective seat.
c. The duration of the Examination is 120 minutes.
d. Every correct answer carries 3 marks. Every wrong answer carries -1 mark. Zero marks for not attempted questions.
e. Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. The candidates should Click on
to go to the next question or on button provided at the bottom of the screen to go to
the previous question.
f. The candidate should click on the correct choice, from the four options given. In case, the candidate does not wish to
attempt the question, it can be left blank.
g. The timer is available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the screen; you are requested to keep watch on it to
ensure that you complete your exam within the allocated time.
h. The candidate can choose to unmark his/her answer by clicking the button provided at the bottom of the
screen.
i. The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame.
j. The list of attempted and un-attempted questions is shown in the right side of the screen. You can click on any of the
attempted ones to revise the answers in case you wish so.
k. Candidates have the option to bookmark a question in case they want to review it at a later stage by clicking on the
button available at the bottom of the screen. The Bookmark on a particular question can be removed by
clicking on
l. The question palette at the right of the screen shows the following status of each of the questions numbered

You have answered the question
You have answered the question but marked for review
You have not answered the question
Note: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions only as long as
the candidate does not the option selected.
m. Candidates should use the OR button or click on the question number displayed at
the right side of the screen to move back and forth between questions.
n. The answers will be saved whenever the candidate goes to the next question, by clicking on OR
button. However, the last question will be saved automatically after answering.
o. If a candidate finishes the paper within the stipulated time, he/she can end the exam by clicking the
button. However, candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam hall till the end of the stipulated
time.
p. On the completion of the exam duration, even if the candidate does not click on an answer or does not click on the
button, the result will be saved automatically by the computer.
q. In the event of the Examination being disrupted due to technical issues, the candidate should immediately inform the
invigilator. The invigilator will help the candidate to re-login to the Examination. This will start the Examination from
where it had stopped.
r. Pen/Pencil/Rough Sheet will be provided at the examination centre.
s. Candidate should write his/her name and Registration Number on the Rough sheet(s) provided for rough work. The
Rough sheet(s) will have to be returned after the examination.
28. Special instructions, if any, given by the Invigilator should be followed strictly.
29. BARC reserves the right to order re-examination for any or all the candidates.
30. Decision of BARC in all the matters will be final and binding on the candidates.
