The state has the third largest forest by area in India. The state
animal is the van bhainsa, or wild Asian buffalo. The state bird is the
pahari myna, or hill myna. The state tree is the Sal (Sarai) found in
Bastar division.
Sanctuaries in India, the Achanakmar Chhattisgarh Wildlife
Sanctuary has a rich biodiversity. Some of the animals that can be
spotted here include wild animals such as Leopard, Blackbuck, Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary
Chital, or four-horned antelope.
Barnawapara Chhattisgarh Wildlife Sanctuary is a small wildlife
Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary sanctuary Spread over an area of 245 sq. km. It is located in the
Mahasamund district. Located in north Chhattisgarh, it is one of the
prominent tourist spots in central India. Having a dense grassland
and bamboo-dominated forest area near Mahasamund town, it
covers various types of flora and fauna from all over the country.
