rice....
A: That sounds good. Do we have any chicken?
B: Uh...no, we don’t. And I think we need more rice, too.
A: Do we need fresh vegetables, too?
B: No, we don’t. There are lots of vegetables in the refrigerator.
A: OK. So, I’ll go to the store and get some chicken and some rice. Is that all we need?
B: Um…I think we need some chocolate ice cream, too.

A: What are your plans for next weekend, Cindy?

B: Next weekend? Oh...I’m going out of town to visit my relatives.
A: Oh, really? Where do they live?
B: They live in New York...New York City.
A: Oh, really? New York is an amazing city. I love New York.
B: Yeah, me too. The shopping is great. And the museums are fantastic.
A: And what about the restaurants? I really love the restaurants there.
B: Oh yeah...me too. I try different restaurants every time I go to New York. I went to a
really great one last month. It was a Korean restaurant.
A: What did you have?
B: I had...well, I don’t remember what it’s called. It had vegetables, and tofu, spices...and an
egg. It was spicy!
A: Was it good?
B: Oh, yeah. It was incredible!

Do you like shopping? Many people all over the world love shopping. The Ginza in Tokyo,
Japan, the Champs Elysées in Paris, France, and Singapore’s Orchard Road are some of the
most popular and most expensive shopping streets in the world. Shops on these streets have
to pay very expensive rents. However, New York City’s Fifth Avenue is the most expensive
shopping street in the world. Just how much does it cost to rent one foot of space on Fifth
Avenue? It costs more than two thousand dollars for every square foot per year.
