Dear

Good day! I am Archelito Cupat, 20 years old and I live in Prudential Village
Daliao Toril Davao City. I am now a 1st year college taking the Bachelor of Science in
Criminology at Davao Central College. During the pandemic when I 18 years old and in
grade 11, I started work to help my mother in financial. We rise by a single mom and we
only rent a house for a years until now. My mother is a solo parent and she is the one
who provide our needs every day. They separated with my father when she was 7
months pregnant. From then, she takes care of us at the same time she also working on
the wet market. Even do my father left us and I haven’t seen him yet but my mother
never fails to support and always stand for us. Currently, my mother is working as a
factory worker at Belle’s Refreshing Juice and she always borrow a money from her
boss to buy food and give us fare for our school because her salary is not enough for
our studies and daily needs. I have a 22 years old brother and he is now a 4th year
college. He is taking Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and he also a full
scholar in Commission of Higher Education. He also a working student during the
pandemic. He is a call center agent on a commission BPO company but when the
pandemic is less critical and the school he attends where he studies announced that
they have a face-to-face class, he stopped working and focuses on his studies since he
is on 3rd year college and his subjects are majors and more on computations. Also, I
have a cousin who live with us because his parents can’t provide for their needs with his
brothers. He is a 9-year-old boy and currently a grade 3 student at Sta. Clara
Elementary School. My mom took him because she felt sorry for him since his parents
didn’t take care with him carefully.

I finished my primary education at Don Juan Dela Cruz Central Elementary

School it's a public school here in Toril. Also, I finished my secondary education at Dona
Carmen Denia National High School also a public school here in our place. My high
school journey is not easy because of financial problem, sometimes I was absent
because I don't have a fare to go to school. I tried to audition in basketball team in our
school and luckily, I passed the audition and become part of the varsity team. As a
student, can't study easily due to financial problem and it's hard because sometimes I'll
go to school hungry and come home tired because of the training. My hobbies are
playing basketball and hiking. These hobbies are my stress reliver because it gives me
fun and I forgot my problems while doing this. My best friend is my neighbor and her
name is Laarme, she is always there for me when I am alone because my mother is
busy on her work while my brother is busy also on his study.

Due to the richness of its culture and the splendor of its landscape, the
Philippines is known as Asia's pearl of the Orient. It is the location of ancient forts, turn-
of-the-century mansions, museums, and churches that date back centuries. There are
7,100 islands in the Philippines archipelago. The traditional Filipino and Spanish
Catholic traditions, as well as influences from Asia and the United States, make up the
culture of the Philippines. Filipinos value food, fashion, music, and art in addition to
being religious and family-oriented. Additionally, we are also hospitable and enjoy a
good time. Singing, dancing, and eating together are often part of this. Festivals fill the
year with a lot of them, and many of them combine Catholic beliefs and ideology with
costumes and rituals from the country's pre-Christian past. Bayanihan is one the culture
that everyone's has. It means having a unity and helping others without expecting a
reward. Because of it, we become resilient. We benefit from one another and become
stronger as a result. One could say that this is what we look for in people. that this
probably doesn't just affect Filipinos. However, we hold each other and ourselves
accountable. Despite our nation's many flaws, we will never abandon those in need.
The flavors of sweet, salty, and sour are all present in Filipino cuisine. Rice plays a
significant role because this is Southeast Asia, after all! Additionally, coconut is of the
utmost significance because all of its components are utilized in cooking and
preparation. The food here is very delicious and affordable just like Adobo. Also, the
beaches here are very stunning with a soft sand with two colors the black sand and
white sand. One of the famous beach here is the Boracay despite of being a small
island, the Philippines' most popular tourist destination. White Beach, a long stretch of
sand surrounded by a small town with resorts, restaurants, bars, and shops, is what
makes it famous. However, Diniwid Beach and Puka Beach, as well as other beaches,
can be explored here. You always feel the relaxed vibe. In this beach are so laid-back
that you could eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner while walking in the sand! The majority
of bars and restaurants offer bean bag chairs or tables that are right on the sand, the
ultimate beachside comfort! You also can do adventures like island hopping, scuba
diving, visiting caves and falls.

I promise to myself that no matter how hard the life is and even though many
trials will come my feet will stay on the ground and face these problems for my family
and my future and I promise to myself that I will forget the pains of the past but
remember the lessons because for me, there is no use of frustration and anxieties of the
past because it will only make myself worthless. For my sponsor, I promise that I will
and do my best in my study so that I can on my subjects, I will focus on my study so that
I will learn something on our lessons specially on the majors and I will finish my study so
that I can help the others also someday. For the KTEP, I will not waste the opportunity
you gave me to achieve my dreams. I promise to persevere and do everything so I can
to finish my study. I promise to follow the rules and regulations of the program. And I
promise that you will not regret on choosing me.

I am very grateful of this program because they give me hope to finish my study.
many applicants applied and I was one of those selected in this program so that I could
achieve my dreams. I sincerely appreciate your flexibility and willingness to help me on
my dreams. I am very excited to be part of this organization. I hope this program
continues to help people in need like me. My life is simple just like others and I'm willing
to do everything to be successful and have a comfortable life with my family. Also, I'm
willing to finish my studies in college so that I can help my mother and have a
comfortable life with a stable job someday. I'll never forget your support and kindness.
