1 Introduction:
Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company (TELCO), also known as Tata Motors, is a
multinational automobile industry in Mumbai, India. The company was founded by Jehangir
Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata in 1945 producing train locomotives, however, the company produced its
first commercial automobile in 1954 in collaboration with Daimler Benz AG, which ended in
1969, and started its production for a passenger vehicle in 1988. But the first passenger
automobile was launched in 1991 the TATA SIERRA. It became the first manufacturing
company in India of developing a competitive indigenous automobile.
In collaboration throughout the world, tata motors have purchased Jaguar cars and land rover to
fully join the two companies into Jaguar Land Rover Limited. It has also collaborated with the
South Korean company Daewoo and manufactured Tata Daewoo commercial trucks. Tata
Motors is now a billion-dollar company having a net worth of 1.4 Billion US$. Tata Motors have
vehicle and manufacturing plants in Jamshedpur, Pantnagar, Lucknow, Sanand, and many other
cities including plants all over the world in South Africa, Thailand, Argentina, and South Africa.
The organization is positioned 265th on the Fortune Worldwide 500 rundown of the world's
greatest enterprises starting around 2019.

1.1 Vision:
The vision of Tata Motors is to be recognized by the whole world in terms of safety and
comfort in their automobiles. According to Tata Motors:
“To be globally significant in each of our chosen businesses by 2025.”

1.2 Mission:
The Mission of Tata Motors is to deliver a valuable product to their customers for them to
be safe and to provide the product with excellent performance, and high quality.
According to Tata Motors Ltd.:
“To be the most reliable global network for
customers and suppliers, that delivers value through products and services. To be a
responsible value creator for all our stakeholders.”
1.3 Objectives:
The focus of tata motors is to take steps toward the future of the automobile industry.
This means introducing electric vehicles and advanced dance features in the cars self-
driving, over-speed indicators while the driver is asleep, and many more. And also to
coordinate ecological and social standards in the organizations, guaranteeing that what
comes from individuals returns to individuals many times over.
1.4 Organizational Structure:

This company is based on Matrix organizational Structure(It is an approach to


orchestrating your business with the goal that you set up detailing connections as a
network, or a framework, as opposed to in the customary progressive system.). In such an
organizational structure the Human resource head, Marketing head, including vehicle
divisions’ which consist of the passenger automobile head and Advanced engineering
head form the Top Management.

“Each Head of Division/Function is solely responsible for the performance of their area
of work. Tata Motors has a Board of Directors consisting of 9 members from different
parts of the Tata Group with Mr. Cyrus Pallonji Mistry as their Chairperson. Mr. Guenter
Butschek serves as the CEO and the MD of the company.”(Organization Structure of

2 Products:
Tata Motors offer multiple types of cars depending upon the nature of potential customers.
they manufacture transport trucks, city vehicles, affordable vehicles, and luxurious vehicles.

 Commercial Vehicles: Tata offers multiple commercial trucks with price


differences. Some of the models are as follows:

1. Tata Ultra 2821.t: This truck comes with a TATA 5L turbotron BS6 engine.
it has a max torque of 850NM. it has a max speed of 80kmph. its fuel tank has
a capacity of 350 liters. it is a 10-wheeler truck. Its price ranges from 34.34
lac to 38.34 lac.

2. Tata Signa 1918.k: This truck comes up with a Tata 5.0L turbotron BS6
engine. it is a 6-wheeler truck. Its fuel tank capacity is 300 liters. Its price
ranges from 33.43 lacs to 37.43 lacs.

 SUVS: Tata offers multiple budget-friendly cars for its customer. according to the
market India, tata offers multiple SUV models in India. some of them are as
follows:

1. : Tata Tiago has 2 variants 1 is a petrol engine and the 2nd variant is a CNG
engine. both petrol and CNG engine are 1199 cc. Tata Tiago has both
automatic and manual options. depending on the fuel type tata Tiago has a

mileage of 19.1 to 26 kilometers per liter. tata Tiago’s price ranges from 5.53
to 6 lacs

2. Tata Safari: Tata Safari has a diesel engine. Its engine is 1956 cc. it is a 6&7
seater car. it has both automatic and manual options. it has a mileage of 14 to

16kmpl. its price ranges from 15 lacs to 25 lacs.

3. Tata Nexon: Tata Nexon is another budget-friendly variant. it has 2 engine


options; 1199cc and 1497cc. it comes with all types of fuel engines i.e. CNG,
petrol, diesel. it has both transmission options i.e. automatic and manual. its
milage ranges from 17kmpl to 24kmpl. its price varies from 7.7 lacs to 10 lacs.

These were some of the many cars that Tata manufactures and supply it to the market in India.
they have made their vehicles eco-friendly and now they are introducing electric vehicles in
India. they have already upgraded their variant to complete vehicles.

3 Services:
Tata Motors provide the following services:
3.1 Speed-o-Service:
This service helps customers in saving their time and aims to provide service in a short
period i.e around 90 mins. This ensures quick timely and same-day delivery of the vehicle
to the customer. This service also includes small repairs to the automobile.

3.2 Door-Step Service:


This is the type of service that consists of a van that is equipped with major types of
repairing tools needed for the automobile. This is called doorstep because the repairing van
appears at your house or the location at which you want it to be.

3.3 24X7 Road Side Assistance:


This is a type of towing service provided by tata motors if the vehicle breaks down at some
place and ensures it reaches the location in under 60 mins in city limits and 120 mins on
highways or other places around the country(India).

3.4 Quick Repair:


The company ensures that if you have any minor issues like a flat tire, fuse repair, bulb
change or any other issue feel free to visit the workshop and the work will be done in under
30 mins.

4 Corporate Social Responsibility Role:


CSR role describes how the company manages its social responsibilities and manages its
industry. According to Tata Motors, their CSR journey is about developing Health,
Education, Employability, and many more. In the case of health, they are using the most
advanced catalytic converters in their cars so that the exhaust of their automobile may not be
harmful to nature and life.
The company’s CSR steps focus on helping the relevant targeted groups, like in urban and
semi-urban areas of India. The corpus to be spent by Goodbye Engines on CSR will
incorporate something like 2% of the normal net benefits of its India Activities for going
before three monetary years. The CSR policy by Tata Motors follow the ‘More from Less

for More’ philosophy which means to gain greater good from outputs and CSR policy, and
also the full utilization of human resource.
In addition to its CSR roles, the company intends to align its CSR role with Schedule VII of
The Company Act 2013 and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will aim to
reduce inequality in areas of health, education, and employability.
Overall, the TATA Group's commitment to CSR highlights the importance of businesses'
role in addressing social and environmental issues and contributing to sustainable
development.

5 Financial Indicators:
 Revenue: FY22 was the year of high demand for all products of tata motors across
the world. Tata Motors have gone up in all financial indicators. Their sales increased
in FY22 as compared to FY20, and FY21. Tata Motors generated more revenue in
2022. tata motors launched Jaguar Land overdue to which its loan increased and the
overall percentage is good and up to the mark. it is expected that jaguar land rover
will do good in the market so all of the indicators are positive.

 Profit: With the launch of the New Jaguar Land Rover the company has gained
more profit in the past two years. The company has generated a total profit of
₹2,597.71 crores in the three months that ended on 31 December last year.
Comparing that with the year 2022, the company was at a loss of ₹1,516.14 crore
in the same period. According to experts, the net profit generated was ₹1,060
during the quarter.
 Sales: tata motors has total sales in units increased by 37.4% in FY22. as
compared to FY21. in 2021 the total units sold were 2,67,513.in FY20 total units
sold were 3,47,587. in FY22 total of 3,67,490 units are sold. Tata Motors

generated 57.9% more revenue in FY22. in FY20 total revenue generated by tata
motors was 36,329 cr. in fy21 the revenue decreased to 33,104 cr. in fy22 total
revenue generated is 52,287 cr.

 Exports: Tata Motors exports its products to around 175 countries. and they are
expanding their business every year. Tata owns multiple car companies through
which they export and manufacture different cars.

6 Details Of Competitor:
Tata Motors is currently dominating the car market due to its cars, trucks, and e-vehicles.
They have captured the market with fair pricing and quality products. but they have
competitors also who are trying to compete at the level of tata motors. locally in India tata's
competitors are Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and Skoda. these are some brands that
compete with tata motors.

6.1 Mahindra Details:


Some of the cars of Mahindra which compete with Tata Motors are XUV700, XUV400,
THAR, and SCORPIO CLASSIC. In the case of their net profit and revenue, it has been
reported that there is an increase in net profit in the year 2022-23, around Rs 1,528 crore
i.e. 14 percent increase compared to the year 2021-2022 that was Rs 1,335 crore.

6.2 Toyota Details:


Cars that compete with Tata Motors are TOYOTA FORTUNER and TOYOTA URBAN-CRUISER.
Whereas the total revenue that is expected to be generated in the year 2023 is US$2.47bn. And
the units of Toyota automobiles to be sold until 2027 are expected to be around 164k.

6.3 Suzuki:
Some cars that compete with tata motors are SUZUKI SWIFT, MARUTI SUZUKI
GRAND VITARA, SUZUKI BALENO, SUZUKI ALTO K10, SUZUKI WAGON R.

6.4 International Competitors:


International competitors of tata motors are VOLVO, AUDI, FORD, MERCEDEZ, etc.
Some cars which are imported but compete with Tata Motors are Audi e-Tron GT, AUDI
A4, AUDI G5, Volvo xc40, Volvo s90, etc.

7 Contribution To National Economy:


Tata Motors was established in 1945. it is one of the leading automobile manufacturing
groups. it is an organization with one of the largest employee strengths. The total number of
employees in tata motors is 81,090. It was the market leader in the n commercial vehicles
segment with about 42.23% market share in FY22.
Indian GDP is about 3.469 Trillion$ in 2022. tata motors contribute almost 6.4% of the total
GDP of the country.

8 Impact of politics on tata motors:


Tata Motors and its subsidiary have overcome several issues that disrupted potential. For
Jaguar Land Rover the U.K.'s decision to leave the European Union set off doubt. Following
the vote for Brexit, many mainland Europeans threatened to boycott British goods and
services, the iconic auto brands included.
The country's world best turn of events, beating 7% the latest few years, made a temporary
yet gigantic step, beholding back to the last quarter as it
tumbled to 6.2%. The economy is returning quickly, notwithstanding, as the public power
continues to extend spending on structure and modernization.
India should return to better contrasted with a 7% improvement this year and next, and

9 Findings:
We as a group choose this topic because of the inspiration that it gave about hard work, also
this is the only Billion dollar automobile company in the whole sub-continent. Overall the
firm’s Organizational structure is also the best because an everyday report is prepared
accordingly.
With the help of topics covered in heading 2,3, and 5 we can see that the overall
performance of the company is outstanding. As it is competing with international and
national automobile companies it soon will be the company producing the best cars in the
whole world.

The company is socially active and the employees understand its CSR roles and the
company’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), giving a positive
image of Tata Motors Ltd.

It is concluded that Tata Motors Ltd. is one of the leading automobile industry and has the
best cars according to pricing and is a good service provider. It has gone from making
locomotives to automobiles, which means bringing change to the environment. The vehicles
are commercial as good passengers, which means it thinks about the customer comfort and
reliability.

11 Suggestions:
The company is ahead of its time. As it has taken all of the possible ways to satisfy the
customers, there may be a few suggestions. One is to move towards the manufacturing of
electric cars, and not use any low-quality raw materials(if they try to use them).
