STEP 1: Knowing Yourself
The first step in planning your career involves evaluating and understanding your aspirations; strengths;
interests; values and personal influences. Complete a self-assessment (you may reflect on your own, consult
a career advisor, or complete an online assessment) and record your strengths, interests, and competencies.
My Strengths:
I consider my skills and qualifications as my greatest strengths. I’m adaptive, well disciplined, fast learner,
flexible, creative, dedicated, honest, as well as a motivator.

My Skills and Competencies:


Time management, flexibility, communication and organizational are among my skills. I have a part-time job
while I’m studying and I usually work after school but still manage to operate our small business as well. My
capacity to communicate effectively with others is also important to my school and work performances,
particularly when I have customers to dealt with in a specific query.

My Interests:
Learning new skills, becoming proactive, cooking and traveling.

My Values:
Kindness, charitable, honesty, appreciation, patience, faith and respect are the redeemable characteristics
that made me a better person. My values are determined by what I believe about myself and not by the
opinions and perceptions of others. These values reflect what is most important to me and I use them as a
guide to achieve my goal in life.

STEP 2: Gather information about the career options in your chosen field of specialization
Look at job advertisements in your field and record the minimum and ideal job requirements and compare
these requirements with your qualifications, skill set, and attributes.

There are companies looking for someone with a bachelor's degree, solid communication skills, and at least
five years of professional experience. I'll soon fulfill these standards, but in the meantime, I'm still focusing on
developing my leadership and communication abilities, two areas I need to think about.

The ideal employment requirements I anticipate from a firm are to have a minimum or no working
experience requirements for recently graduated students because it can be difficult to obtain a job if a
company requires that kind of condition.

STEP 3: Plan your future skills development

Write down which skills or areas of knowledge you need to develop to comply with the job requirements of
your chosen career or with different options in your field of study.

Training and Development Opportunities:

Even if I still need to work on my communication abilities and don't have at least five years of job experience, I
am still capable of managing a team someday. I also need to improve my self-esteem since when I'm not
comfortable around my company, I easily become sidetracked.

I prefer to work in an engaging and professional environment where everyone puts in a lot of effort and
supports one another to achieve team success. The greatest course of action for me is to choose to work with
those who can also assist me in improving my abilities and skills.
