 What is the author's background and when is the story published?

The true story of Hansel and Gretel goes back to a cohort of tales
that originated in the Baltic regions during the Great Famine of 1314 to
1322. Volcanic activity in Southeast Asia and New Zealand ushered in a
period of prolonged climate change that led to crop failures and massive
starvation across the globe, a German fairy tale collected by the German
Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimm's Fairy Tales
 Who are the primary and secondary characters?
 Hansel
 Gretel
 Witch
 Father
 Mother
 What is the plot of the story?
Hansel and Gretel are a brother and sister abandoned in a forest,
where they fall into the hands of a witch who lives in a house made of
gingerbread, cake, and candy. The cannibalistic witch intends to fatten
Hansel before eventually eating him, but Gretel pushes the witch in her
oven and kills her.

 What is the important sequence in the story?

The important sequence in the story is when Hansel and Gretel
decided to leave home and explore the forest. More problems arise as they
see the house owned by the witch. This sequence also shows how
intelligent Gretel is because she was able to find a way to save his little
brother.

 What serves as the conflict?

The exposition introduces the characters, plot, setting, and conflict.
The characters are Hansel, Gretel, Mom, and Dad. The setting in the
exposition is the forest. The conflict is that Mom took Hansel and Gretel
into the forest, and left them there.

 What theme does the story shows?

One of the themes of ''Hansel and Gretel'' is survival—the survival of
Hansel and Gretel's family, the survival of Hansel and Gretel from their
parents, and their survival from the witch in the woods. It wouldn't be
much of a story about survival unless there was a sense of hardship or
danger.

 How will you apply the moral of the story to yourself and in real life?
It shows how things can be possible if you will make good decisions
and be intelligent about them. Hardships are part of one’s life and as
someone who deals with it, we must be like Gretel, strong and smart. And
like Hansel, he trusts the people around him because he believes that her
sister can save him. It is all about trust and overcoming hardships.
