Electrical Materials

Electrical devices and materials used in the manufacturing of basic electrical devices such as
extension cords, lamp shades, and so on are listed below. The flow of current in an electrical circuit is
controlled by these devices, which are conceived and manufactured for a specific function. Ensure
that electrical current is carried safely from the source to the load or other current-consuming device.
In an electrical circuit, you may control the flow of current. Ensure that electrical current is carried
safely from the source to the load or other current-consuming device. Inside and outside houses and
structures, hold and fasten cables to its fittings. To prevent any destruction or damage to the
dwellings, buildings, appliances, and instruments.

The following Electrical Supplies/ Materials are listed in the following Page:

3
Convenience Outlet - is a device that provides a handy supply of electrical energy for
equipment that consume electricity. It's where an appliance's male plug is attached, generally on the
wall or connected to an extension cable. It might be single, duplex, triplex, or multiplexed, and it could
be surface or flush type, depending on the kind.

Male / AC Plug - is a gadget that conducts electric current when plugged into a convenience
outlet. On one end, it has a flat cord linked to it, while the other end is connected to a current-
consuming device or appliance.

4
Flush Type Surface Type Hanging (Weather) Hanging Chain

Lamp Holder - It's a piece of electrical equipment that holds and protects an incandescent or
compact fluorescent light. "Lamp Socket/Receptacle" is another name for it.

Flush Type Surface Type Hanging Type

Switch - is a circuit-connected and circuit-disconnected device that connects and disconnects

electric current. Hanging, flush, and surface styles of switches are available.

5
Knife Blade Fuse Cartridge Fuse Plug Type Fuse Fuse Box

Fuse - When there is an overload or short circuit, a circuit protecting device blows and shuts
the current automatically.

Circuit Breaker - A safety device that automatically cuts or interrupts the current when a
problem in the circuit arises, such as a short circuit or an overload.

6
Plastic Metal

Utility Box - Flush type convenience outlet and switch are attached to a rectangular shaped
metallic or plastic (PVC) material.

Plastic Metal

Junction Box - an octagonal-shaped electrical substance used to make wire connections or

junctions. It's also where you'll find the flush lamp holder. This might be constructed of metal or
polyvinylchloride (PVC).

7
Flat Cord - a duplex stranded wire often used in extension cord construction and for temporary
electrical installation.

Stranded Wire Solid Wire

Electrical Wire/Conductor - can be classified into;

Stranded Wire - which is made up of numerous strands linked together to form a single
wire, is an example of an electrical material

Solid Wire - single strand of copper or aluminum wire is used to make solid wire. These
are utilized in the installation of wire both inside and outside structures.

8
Electrical Conduit Rigid Metallic Conduit Corrugated Plastic Conduit

Electrical Conduits/ Pipes - For protection and insulation, electrical materials are employed
as the route of wires. Rigid metallic conduit, flexible metallic conduit (FMC), rigid non-metallic conduit
(PVC), and flexible non-metallic or corrugated plastic conduit are all possible options (CPC).

Electrical Tape - live or exposed wires are protected and covered by this device.

9
Clamps - It's a type of electrical substance that's utilized to hold and anchor electrical conduits
in place.

Connectors - It's used to connect metallic or non-metallic conduit to utility boxes or junctions.
