On February 2, 2021, Bezos announced that
he would leave the position as CEO of
Amazon, to be replaced by Andy Jassy, the
head of Amazon's cloud computing division,
and Bezos became executive chairman,
since then Bezos stopped being the richest
person in the world as he was surpassed by
the Frenchman Bernard Arnault.
