EXPERIENCES
 A Common knowledge in schools is that teachers are considered the second parent of
students, the teachers care for their safety, teach them proper behavior and teach them the
way of the world, they serve as a role model for the children, and often underappreciated
especially when it comes to disciplining. The teachers in the school that we got deployed
which is V. Mapa High School, really upheld the code of ethics the teachers should have,
especially with the cooperating teacher that I was assigned to, Ms. Vina Jerios, she
possesses traits that I value, which includes a lot of patience and understanding especially
that she handles 3 top sections, and 3 lower sections.
 When I arrived in Victorino Mapa High School as an observer, I noticed that almost all
teachers were strict there especially when it comes to keeping peach and order. The
principal openly accepted us as part of the staff even though we’re still observing, offered
us a piece of advice, then introduced us to the teachers that will be handling Hevean,
Clarence, Joana, and I in our respective year levels. I’ve noticed off the bat that teachers
there already have adapted to non-traditional teaching, you can barely see teachers that
uses traditional learning materials.
 It was exhausting yet strangely fulfilling to see students are diligent when it comes to
taking notes, doing their reports, and actively participating in class discussions and
recitations, because it shows that despite the pandemic, the children were still able to
participate in the real life setting of a classroom.
 SS1, SS2 and SS3; I was lucky enough to have a CT that handles 3 top sections and 3
lower sections so that I could compare the class dynamics that they have. So far, the top 3
sections live up to their reputation as being the most behaved, complete and intelligence
which shows when Ms. Vina asked made them name the countries in all regions of Asia,
they were all a bit shy and their reporting skills need work due to them holding flash
cards when standing in front of the class and their use graphic organizers, but they did
their best and I’m proud to see them happy after finishing their reports.
 Even though there is a margin of discrimination against sections, the 3 lower sections; 16,
17 & 18 that I’ve encountered in Ms. Vina’s schedule were not considered hectic nor
headache inducing, they’re considered behave in a way that there’s not much noise, but
there are students that kept switching chairs and were just about to do their homework
when it’s time to pass. But in terms of reporting and activities, they could also match up
the higher sections because they too are capable and competent enough to answer the
same activity that Ms. Vina gave to the higher sections.
 However, I would like to highlight some of the disheartening things that I’ve encountered
because most of these students, when they talk to Ms. Vina, they forgot sometimes that
Ms. Vina oversees the classroom, there’s no “opo” or “po” and sometimes the students
are out of line when complaining about the activity which I hear multiple complains like,
“ano ba yan mam, activity nanaman” and I did my best to lecture them when I was
observing with using formalities and asking Ms. Vina nicely and respectfully when it
comes to their activities.
 I have yet to see how the students will do in their next reporting, and you’ll also be sure
that I’ll be there in all 7 days because I really want to see how they form their thought
process and how they perform.
