A Major revision is required before reconsideration.

General comment:
The main scope of the Journal is the measurement science and technology. Therefore, the authors
should add the important statistical part, incorporating the uncertainty and confidence intervals for
the performed displacement analysis results.

Also, this study should be extended by experimental validations. An article with computational
simulations only would be recommended to be resubmitted to Journal of Mathematical Models in
Engineering.

Also, please note that it is essentially important to highlight the novelty of your study in order to
attract the attention and citations from the International Engineering Community.
Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the article to try our best to
improve the quality of the paper.

dedication for its technical prowess. The manuscript is considered to be published once it complies
with the comments below:

1. The authors are advised to improve the images/figures' quality and resolution.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the article to try our best to
improve the quality of the images.

2. The authors are suggested to annotate Fig. 4 to make a clear indication to the readers.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the text and added
corresponding notes in Fig 4 to help readers understand.

3. Please describe briefly and clearly about FLAC3D software.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the article to add some
introduction to FLAC3D.

4. Please write a consistent Fig instead of FIG.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the text to unify FIG in the
form of Fig.

5. Please make a space for each subtext (i.e. 1) Horizontal displacement of slope excavation)

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the text, made a space for
each subtext。

6. The authors are advised to proofread the journal as there are a lot of grammatical errors.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have proofread the language of the article and
changed the previous grammatical errors.

7. Please explain the way forward of the study and its application in available industries.

Thank you very much for your comments, we have made changes in the article, here are the
sections we added.

The displacement analysis and numerical simulation of pile anchor support structure in the
excavation of deep foundation pit provide valuable insights for improving the stability and safety
of construction projects in densely populated urban areas. It is an important resource for
geotechnical engineers to design more efficient support structures in scenarios such as tall buildings,
underground facilities, and infrastructure development. The study highlights the importance of
monitoring, data analysis and simulation, with the potential to improve numerical simulation
software and improve safety practices in the construction industry. In conclusion, it contributes to
the safety and efficiency of modern urban building and infrastructure development.8. Please refer
to or explain, if there is any industrial guideline available for the soil-structure relationship
assessment.

9. In the introduction section, it was found that most of the references refer to soil studies and are
not up-to-date. Therefore, the author is advised to also refer to the structural part of the study such

Comments and suggestions for authors:

Please try to address the following comments in your paper:

1. In the abstract, you state that you compared the measured displacement data and numerical
simulation results. Can you provide more details on the specifics of this comparison - what
parameters exactly were compared? How close were the results?
Thank you very much for your comments, and I'm sorry that all the data from our current study have
been presented in the form of tables in the text, and more in-depth research will provide more data
in the future.

2. In Section 2 on the foundation pit support scheme, can you provide more justification and
calculations for why the pile-anchor retaining system was chosen over other options?
Thank you very much for your comments, we have added the advantages of the pile-anchor retaining
system in the article to explain what to choose the pile-anchor retaining system over other systems.

3. In Section 3.2 on monitoring data analysis, it would be helpful to include some quantitative
displacement numbers from the monitoring data, rather than just describing the trends. This would
allow better comparison to the simulation results later.
Thank you very much for your opinion. We believe that changes during the monitoring process can
be presented by trend charts. However, we have also described the values of some more important
changing data nodes in the summary of this section. I hope you can understand.
4. In Section 4.1 on the numerical model, more details should be provided on how the soil
parameters like cohesion, friction angle, elastic modulus etc. were determined and assigned to the
different layers in FLAC3D.
Thank you very much for your comments, we have added the soil parameters obtained from the
experiment to the article.
Soil weight: 18.0 kN/m-3, cohesion: 50 c/kPa, internal friction angle: 13.0°, elastic modulus:
10.0MPa.

5. In Section 5.3 where you analyze the differences between measured and simulated results,
expanding on the time effect of soil deformation would strengthen the explanations. Were any soil
viscosity or creep parameters incorporated into the model? If not, that could be a significant factor.
Thank you very much for your comments, we have strengthened the explanation of the time effect
of extended soil deformation in the article. We include the parameter of soil viscosity in our model,
which was answered in the previous question.

6. The conclusions in Section 6 are a bit vague. Can you provide some quantitative assessments of
how closely the simulated and measured results matched? Were they within 10%? 20%? More
context would be helpful.
Thank you very much for your comments, we have revised in the text, the data in this part is
quantitatively processed, and the difference between the simulated and actual data is 8.67%, less
than 10%.

7. In general, some additional details would help strengthen the paper:

- More quantitative data when comparing the measured and simulated results
- Further justification of the model inputs and assumptions
- Expanded explanation of the time-dependent soil behavior
- More numerical context for how closely the results matched
- Additional calculations to support the chosen retaining system
Thank you very much for your comments, and we have done our best to modify the content of the
article according to this comment.
