STATEMENT
To implement smart irrigation systems that use

lowpower, long-range wireless communication

technology like
LoRa can provide an effective solution in agricultural
field.
INTRODUCTION
The multiple LoRa-based smart irrigation system is a wireless and
scalable solution designed to optimize water usage in agricultural
practices.

The system uses a network of sensors and LoRa gateways to collect and

transmit real-time data on soil moisture levels, weather

conditions, and other relevant parameters.
The smart irrigation system can be designed to monitor and control the water
usage of each device based on the specific needs of the plants or crops being
grown.

METHODOLOGY
System design: The first step is to design the system based on the specific needs of the
irrigation site. This includes selecting the appropriate sensors, irrigation devices, and
gateway devices, and designing the LoRaWAN network architecture.

Sensor installation: The sensors are installed in the soil at appropriate locations to
measure the soil moisture levels, temperature, humidity, and other environmental
factors.
Sensor data collection: The system uses sensors to collect data on the soil moisture
levels, temperature, humidity, and other environmental factors that affect plant growth.
The sensors are connected to a gateway device using LoRaWAN technology.

METHODOLOGY
Data processing: The gateway device collects the sensor data and processes it using
algorithms to determine the optimal irrigation schedule for each device. The algorithms
take into account factors such as plant type, soil type, and weather conditions.

Monitoring: The system continuously monitors the irrigation devices and collects data on
their water usage and performance. This data is used to improve the system's algorithms
and optimize the irrigation schedule.
