Jan. 2019,

parenting.firstcry.com/articles/10-fun-and-interesting-tenali-rama-stories-for-kids/.

Accessed 22 Dec. 2022.

This article narrates some of the adventures of Tenali Raman. Tenali Raman was an

advisor and scholar of King Krishnadevaraya’s court during the days of the Vijayanagara

empire. Tenali Raman is often called the “Birbal of the South”, as a reference to Birbal,

the advisor and courtier to Akbar, the third Mughal emperor, as both of them were very

witty and often the subject of rather humorous folk tales. The article narrates nine of

these folktales, some of which I actually heard of growing up. I think this article was

meant to narrate to children or even parents who want to read to their children about the

adventures of Tenali Raman, as they are likely the target audience for this article. I think

this article is also credible because even though the versions of the stories that I heard

were different, that is not necessarily the fault of the writer as these stories were passed

through oral tradition, and often changed to the narrator’s liking. But at their core, they

are mostly the same, and I have seen many other stories that are very similar to the ones

in this article, so in my opinion, there is no question of its credibility.

“Andhra Pradesh - History | Britannica.” Encyclopædia Britannica, 2022,

www.britannica.com/place/Andhra-Pradesh/History. Accessed 22 Dec. 2022.

This article is about the history of the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh is

known for its great and extensive contributions to Indian culture, such as the Telugu
language or the traditional Kuchipudi dance. It is linguistically, culturally, ethnically, and

religiously diverse and has endured many conquests and invasions. Before the British, it

has passed hands many times through the Mauryans, the Andhras, and the Vijyanagara

empire. Under British rule, Andhra Pradesh was heavily exploited and as a result, many

brave people felt compelled to fight for independence. The purpose of this article is to

inform the audience about the history of Andhra Pradesh, and its target audience is likely

a teacher in India who was tasked with teaching students about the history of this state or

just any person interested in Andhra Pradesh’s history (like me!). I’m certain that this

article is credible because I have relied upon this website more times than I can count,

and it seems as though its information is confirmed by many other sources.

Indian Art.” Artincontext.org, 19 June 2022, artincontext.org/indian-art/. Accessed 22

Dec. 2022.

This article talks about Indian art. Indian art has a long history of richness and diversity,

but what is most remarkable about them is how lovingly they were crafted, with great

attention to detail. Art in India can be traced all the way back to the Indus Valley

Civilization where archaeological excavations revealed cave paintings and small

figurines of animals. Art became more sophisticated and ornate with the onset of

Hinduism and Buddhism and artists created exquisite idols of the Hindu gods and

Buddha. There were also many traditional forms of art as well, and with the arrival of the

Mughals, Islamic architecture made its mark on India. The most famous of these works of

architecture is the Taj Mahal, which has attracted visitors all over the world from the day
it was completed centuries ago. Art continues to change in India, influenced by religion,

politics, and emotion, but its diversity and uniqueness is still the same. The purpose of

this article is to bring appreciation to Indian art, and it was likely (in my guess) written by

an art historian from India. It’s targeted towards students who take art history (like me!),

or just any art enthusiast wanting to learn about the art of India. I think this article is very

trustworthy because its information is very factual and unbiased, and it seems to be very

well researched.

This article describes the culture of the Indian State of Assam. Assam is a state located in

the northeastern region of India, and the one thing that all of the states have in common is

that they are very diverse. Assam is no exception, and this article talks about the different

forms of art, cuisine, cultural customs, and even dances that the state has. There are many

tribal communities and villages in Assam, and though the caste system still exists, it is

not as prevalent as some other places. The article talks about the various textile arts in

Assam, the exquisite jewelry lovingly crafted by various artisans, and the dances like the
classical dance of Satriya Nritya, or the folk dances like Bihu. The purpose of this article

is to bring to light the cultural diversity in Assam and ultimately make the reader

understand what makes this particular place unique. The article is from the web page of

the Assamese state government, and I think it is certainly trustworthy because

information listed by a government is usually almost always up to date and well

researched. I think the target audience would be any person of Indian descent or even any

foreign individual who wants to understand the culture of Assam better.

This article is about the languages in India. Many people aren’t aware of this, but while

India has two official languages, Hindi and English, it is also home to almost two

thousand spoken languages. The majority of Indians speak languages that are typically

classified as Indo-European languages like Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu, and Marathi; or they

are Dravidian languages like Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu. The language you

speak often depends on the region in which you live, like if you live in Maharashtra, then

you likely speak Marathi, but if you like in Kerala, you likely speak Malayalam. The
purpose of this article is to bring to light India’s diverse linguistic heritage, and its target

audience is anyone interested in learning about it. I’m certain that this article is credible

because it contains a lot of information that I already know is true. I am from Andhra

Pradesh, so my family speaks Telugu, but our friends from Punjab speak Punjabi. But the

information that is new has been confirmed by other sources.

www.sikhnet.com/pages/who-are-sikhs-what-is-sikhism. Accessed 22 Dec. 2022.

This article talks about the religion of Sikhism. Sikhism was founded in the late fifteenth

century by a man named Guru Nanak, who preached unity, love and peace in a time when

religious tensions and blind faith ran rampant. It has more than 20 million adherents

globally, and Sikhs are even a majority in the Indian state of Punjab. Sikhism stresses

equality and justice between all people, regardless of their class, caste, gender, religion,

and race. I think this article is credible because its information seems well-founded and

well-researched, and its contents have been confirmed by other resources. This article

was also created by a Sikh organization, so I think that it was made for Sikhs so that they

can understand their religion, but it could just as much be for anyone else, too, because its

ultimate purpose is to inform the audience about Sikhism, which is not very well-known

unfortunately.
