 Many immigrants moved into neighborhoods with others from the same

country. They founded schools, clubs, and places of worship to help preserve
their customs. Some immigrant communities formed benevolent societies, aid
organizations offered immigrants help in cases of sickness, unemployment, or
death. Many immigrants lived in tenements poorly built, because they found
theirs life difficult. They usually worked as farmers in their homeland. Few new
immigrants were skilled in modern manufacturing or industrial work. Not all
industrial labor took place in large factories, some were
called sweatshops because of long hours and hot, unhealthy working
conditions. immigrants with skills worked as bakers, carpenters, machinist
 There are some thoughts about the immigrants similar to the late 1800s. for
example the idea of a crow of immigrants will disappear jobs for native
Americans. Other Americans thought that the immigrants will do hard jobs with
low paid. They make laws to prevent the entrance of immigrants to the
country.
 In my country, Spain there weren’t a lot of immigrants. Some Spaniard leave
the countries and they went to South America’s countries like Mexico,
Argentina or Uruguay
 Nowadays there are a lot of immigrants in the country, Spain, because they
entered the country illegally by small boats or under tracks. Spain is a good
location for immigrants from Africa because is very near and it is the entrance
to Europe.
 I don’t have any family member that would have to go to another country
looking for job.
