1.0 What is Management?

Management is the art of getting things done through people by improving management skills
like leadership and administration of an organization. Planning, organizing, directing, and
controlling resources such as people, material, and financial in order to accomplish particular
objectives and goals are all parts of management. Planning is about setting objectives and goals,
coming up with strategies, and making action plans. In order to carry out the plans, organizing
entails coordinating and placing resources. Management skills are absolutely crucial for
coordinating resources and tasks to help a business run smoothly and progress toward a common
goal. Every company or organization needs management and it does not matter whether it's a
little firm or a major corporation. Effective management equips the workforce with guidance,
inspiration, and leadership so they can collaborate on a single goal and succeed. Management is
a group of people who concentrate on strategy planning, performance evaluation, and modifying
goal milestones to increase an organization's profitability. Additionally, managers organize
teamwork in order to use existing resources to accomplish the company's objectives. The goal of
good managers is to maximize both effectiveness and efficiency.

By studying management, people get to improve their social skills and be better able to interact
with co-worker because management needs to interact with people in order to get other people’s
opinion and feedback about their company’s management so that they can improve and solve all
problems that occur during handling the company. Management is a crucial component of every
organization's performance, and effective management promotes long-term growth and success.

2.0 What is Organization?

An organization is a group of people who cooperate, such as a corporation, neighborhood

association, charity, or union that is involved in pursuing defined objectives. In order to
accomplish specific goals and objectives efficiently and effectively, activities, resources, and
people are arranged and structured according to organizational principles. Using a methodical
approach, an organization can manage its resources and workforce to accomplish a shared vision,
mission, and set of objectives. Organization can be understood as a social system which
comprises all formal human relationships. The organization encompasses division of work
among employees and alignment of tasks towards the ultimate goal of the company. The process
of organization is goal-oriented and works towards accomplishing those goals through careful
planning and activity coordination. It is based on the idea of task division and establishes an
authority-responsibility connection between the organization's members. It can also be
considered to be the second-most significant managerial task because it involves coordinating
employee efforts, acquiring resources, and combining the two in order to achieve the objectives
of the organization.

In our Rent4life company, we have organized an organizational structure which contains the
Chief Executive Officer, Logistic Manager, Marketing Manager and Financial Manager. All of
these managers have their own specific courses that they need to focus on so that the company
can run smoothly by following their orders. Rent4life also set up their own vision, mission and
objective of the company so that all the things that run in the company will always follow one
path. These vision, mission and objective of the company will also be the identity of the
company.

3.0 Background of Rent4life

Rent4life Company is a company under transportation services which gives rental car services.
The first ever records of car rentals date back to 1904, when a Minneapolis bicycle shop began
offering car rentals. Since there are few rental car services around and demand on rental services
are high, Rent4life takes this opportunity to dominate the home city' segment of the automobile
rental market, catering primarily to customers who require temporary car rentals to replace
vehicles that have been stolen or are undergoing maintenance. In addition to its rental car
business, Rent4life also provides motorcycle rental services because not many people can afford
to rent a car just for one or two people, so this company makes other services to help people in
the transportation sector.

Rent4life was founded in 1980 by Shazy and officially established in 1982. The idea came from
Shazy who had struggled to finish high school and drifted through two colleges in one year. He
only lives with his father and his father cannot afford to buy a car which means he has to take
public transportation to go to college. After he got a job as he grew, he made savings to buy a
car. As he got a car, he sometimes let his friends borrow it but then he realized that he could
make money from that. He began to examine the potential for car rentals for people around his
house. At first the short-term rental business seemed more of a nuisance than a profitable
business, but Shazy handed operations over to an energetic assistant, Thony, to see what he could
do. He then got the idea to do rental services. But before long he discovered that he had a desire
to be an entrepreneur. He soon realized that insurance adjusters needed rental cars for customers
whose cars were stolen or destroyed, so Rent4life focused its efforts on this sector and offered
more affordable prices than the larger rental companies.

Rent4life purchases their automobiles in bulk directly from the manufacturer through Fleet
Division. They clean the vehicles after a year or two of renting them out, and then they are
offered for sale as slightly used vehicles. They also keep placing yearly orders for the newest
model years. This is how our company is able to rent out new models, make a profit, and profit
from the "slightly" used automobiles as well. For now, Rent4life has at least 35 vehicles to be
rented. Our company always puts low prices for renting because we want to help people who
need a vehicle to go anywhere.

Rent4life was initially established in a small town in Sungai Petani, Kedah but has now been
relocated at Cyberjaya, Selangor due to population factors and higher demand. In Cyberjaya,
there are approximately 4 universities such as Cyberjaya University College of Medical
Sciences, Kirkby International College, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology and
Multimedia University (Cyberjaya). Since many students need car rental services to make
moving about easier, there is a high demand for car rental companies.

7.0 Main Competitor

7.1 Public Transport

Public transportation has long been a fierce rival to automobile rental services, providing a
practical and economical alternative for commuting and travel. Public transport systems, which
have large networks of buses, trains, trams, and subways, offer a number of advantages that
make them the preferred option for many people and communities. The affordability of public
transport is one of its main benefits. Renting a car can be very expensive, especially for those
who don't need a car every day. On the other hand, public transport offers affordable costs,
frequently with reduced charges for regular commuters or particular groups like students or
seniors. For those looking to cut costs on transport, its accessibility makes it a desirable choice.
The stress and inconvenience of driving are significantly decreased when using public transport.
With public transport, users may unwind while someone else manages traffic and navigation.
This enables people to make better use of their travel time, whether it be for catching up on
work, reading a book, or just taking a moment to unwind. In contrast, renting a car frequently
entails navigating parking lots, congested highways, and the responsibility of operating a vehicle,
which may be taxing and time-consuming.

Systems for public transport also support environmental sustainability. Public transport eases
overall traffic congestion and the number of vehicles on the road by carrying more passengers
per vehicle. As a result, carbon emissions are reduced, improving the quality of the air.
Contrarily, the expansion of vehicles caused by car rental corporations may worsen traffic and
environmental issues. Another aspect that makes public transportation a great rival to vehicle
rental businesses is accessibility. Various neighborhoods and regions are served by public
transport networks, ensuring that people have easy access to key locations including workplaces,
schools, retail malls, and recreational sites. This accessibility is especially helpful in cities where
parking can be scarce and expensive. In order to further increase their appeal, public transport
systems frequently provide extra benefits like dedicated lanes or priority boarding during rush
hours. In addition, a lot of towns are spending money on updating their public transport systems,
adding elements like real-time tracking, mobile ticketing, and better connectivity to make the
journey even more convenient and user-friendly. While automobile rental firms still offer helpful
services for particular circumstances and preferences, public transportation continues to outpace
them due to its affordability, ease, environmental advantages, accessibility, and continual
technological developments. Public transit is essential to creating a sustainable and effective
mobility landscape as societies work to address transport issues and limit the use of private
vehicles.

7.2 A ride-hailing app

Ride-hailing apps have revolutionized how individuals access transportation services in recent
years by establishing themselves as formidable rivals to conventional vehicle rental businesses.
These accessible on-demand platforms, like Grab and Maxim, present a substantial challenge to
the automobile rental industry because of their many benefits and popularity among consumers.
The convenience that ride-hailing applications offer is one of its main benefits. Users may
request a trip from their present location and have a driver pick them up in a matter of minutes
with only a few clicks on a smartphone. By doing this, you can avoid going to a car rental
agency, filling out paperwork, and going through the picking up and returning of a rental car
process. Ride-hailing apps are a hassle-free substitute for automobile rentals due to the simple
booking process and door-to-door service. The flexibility that ride-hailing applications provide is
another important advantage. With no long-term rental obligation, users have the ability to
request a ride whenever they need one. This is especially helpful for people who only sometimes
need transport for things like quick outings, nights out or airport transfers. Users of ride-hailing
applications can access an automobile without the responsibilities of ownership or rental
agreements. Another aspect that makes ride-hailing applications popular is their
cost-effectiveness. Using a ride-hailing service can be less expensive than renting a car for
short-distance excursions or in locations with severe traffic and limited parking. Users of
ride-hailing services may readily estimate the fee before making a reservation thanks to the
services' competitive pricing structures. Some ride-hailing firms now provide shared trips or
pooling options, enabling customers to split costs with other passengers and cut costs even
further.

Technology is also used by ride-hailing applications to offer a smooth customer experience.

Transparency and trust between passengers and drivers are improved through cutting-edge
technologies including real-time tracking, cashless payments, and driver ratings. Through the
app, users may immediately contact their drivers, follow their whereabouts, and anticipate their
arrival times. These technical developments support ride-hailing services' overall ease and
dependability. In addition, ride-hailing apps frequently place a high priority on customer
satisfaction and work to deliver high-quality service. Users' ratings and feedback help maintain a
level of accountability and professionalism. This focus on customer experience and safety fosters
trust and loyalty among users. Ride-hailing applications have grown significantly in popularity
because of their convenience, flexibility, cost effectiveness, and technical developments, but
automobile rental firms still cater to specific needs and preferences. The availability of
on-demand transport without the responsibilities of ownership or leasing obligations has changed
how people view mobility. Car rental companies face a significant challenge as ride-hailing
services develop and grow, especially in urban areas and for temporary mobility requirements.
8.0 Assessing SWOT of company

SWOT analysis was created to present a real-world, fact-based, data-driven view of the
advantages and disadvantages of a project, organization, or even an industry. The organization
must maintain the analysis current by eliminating preconceived conceptions or gray areas and
instead concentrate on actual events. The data should be used as a guide, not as a guideline, by
the company.

8.1 Strengths

Strengths are the fundamental features that provide a person or organization a benefit over the
competition. They could be made up of things like talent, vision, knowledge, brand, or
motivation. Rent4life has several strengths that could satisfied the customer and also could
compete on global transport industry:

as airports, train stations, and city centers, making it easy for clients to use their services. Beside

customers, encouraging repeat business, and cultivating customer loyalty. This programme is not
only to keep customers frequent, but also upgrading company engagement among the citizens.

8.2 Weakness

Internal elements that may prohibit an organization or a person from achieving their goals are
referred to as weaknesses. They can include issues such as a lack of motivation, a lack of a clear
vision, or unworthy time management abilities. Here are Rent4life weaknesses that wished to be
improved in future to gain much better quality that could made Rent4life become the best
transport company in the world:

A. Vehicle Maintenance

Vehicle maintenance can be expensive and time-consuming when dealing with a big fleet of
vehicles. An issue that could result in higher repair and maintenance costs is making sure that all
cars are properly maintained and in good shape.

B. Seasonal Demand

Demand variations caused by the seasons and travel patterns can be seen in the automobile rental
market. Off-peak times could result in lower revenue and utilization rates for the organization.
Companies are sometimes hesitant to respond to client demands, especially during the holiday
season, due to a scarcity of automobiles.

C. Competitive Pricing Pressure

The market is very cutthroat, with a lot of businesses providing comparable services. The
profitability and margins of the business may be under threat from price competition that
requires the company to match the prices to stay equal and still affordable for the clients.

D. Limited Coverage

If a business only offers a few rental locations or is not available in some areas, it may lose out
on potential clients who prefer more easily accessible rental options. Unfortunately, Rent4life
still focuses on several big cities in the country and is not available in the suburbs.
E. External Factors

The achievements of the company are determined by external factors such as economic
conditions, fuel prices, and travel limitations. Any negative changes in these aspects can have an
effect on the company's performance.

8.3 Opportunities

Opportunities are things that happen outside of you that can be advantageous. Training,
internships, or changes in job path. Therefore, the organization would be the best of every single
opportunity given.

A. Market Expansion

The company can look at opportunities to expand its operations into other regions or target niche
markets in order to reach a larger consumer base. For instance, the company starts to expand the
business through all areas in the country including the suburbs.

B. Collaboration with Travel Agencies

Through bundled packages or exclusive promotions, companies could boost their visibility and
attract more customers by collaborating with travel agencies or online travel platforms. By
collaborating, the company would be familiar to international tourists.

C. Sustainable Initiatives

Embracing eco-friendly practices, such as offering electric or hybrid vehicle options, can appeal
to environmentally conscious clients while also aligning with emerging sustainability trends.

D. Car-Sharing Services

The organization may consider joining the car-sharing market by providing short-term rentals or
car-sharing platforms, capitalizing on the growing need for flexible mobility solutions. This
option is expected to help people to rent a car at the lowest cost.

E. Technological Advancements
Investing in fresh innovations such as mobile apps, keyless access systems, or car tracking can
improve the customer experience and safety protection. With technology, the company could
streamline operations.

8.4 Threats

Threats are external variables that may have negative effects on an organization. They can be
anything that can harm your firm, product, or profitability, such as increased competitors,
supplier charges, or new industry rules. And here are the Rent4life threats which the organization
tried to handle to maintain the company's sustainability.

A. Rivalry in the Car Rental market

The car rental market is extremely competitive, with numerous local and global rivals. Price wars
and loss of market share may result from intense competition.

B. Disruptive Technologies

The rise of ride-sharing services, self-driving cars, and other disruptive technologies has the
potential to alter the dynamics of the automobile rental industry and represent a threat to existing
business models.

C. Changing Consumer tastes

Consumer tastes and behaviors are changing, with some people preferring alternatives to car
ownership or looking for more environmentally friendly transportation solutions. This shift in
preferences could have an effect on demand for car rental services.

D. Government rules

Changes in government laws, such as taxation policies, licensing requirements, or regulations

related to the environment, can have an effect on the company's operations and profitability.

E. Economic Instability

Economic crises, recessions, or fluctuations in fuel prices can all have an impact on travel and
tourism activities, thereby reducing demand for vehicle rental services, especially in the post
pandemic era.
F. External Events and Disasters

Unexpected events like natural disasters, chaos, or health crises around the world may postpone
travel plans and decrease requests for vehicle rental services. These outside factors, which are
frequently out of the company's control, can have a big effect on how it operates and how well it
does financially.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Rent4life business represents a trusted and practical option for people and
organizations looking for mobility flexibility. It stays at the forefront of the industry, adjusting to
changing trends and exceeding customer expectations thanks to its dedication to innovation,
sustainability, and constant progress. Rent4life Company is prepared to hold onto its top spot and
influence the future of transportation services as people and organizations continue to rely on the
comfort and effectiveness of rental automobiles.
