John was born on March 10, 1861, in Clunes, Victoria.From a young age
John's mother encouraged him to draw from a young age. Later in life, he com-
mitted himself to studying at the National Gallery of Victoria's School of Art in
1882. In 1887, he was awarded the school's travelling grant, which allowed him
to attend Académie Cormon in Paris. He moved to London in 1893, where he
developed a reputation as a stylish portrait painter. He left for Australia after
two years, but he later went back to London in 1901, where he stayed until
1920.

Heidi Yardley

Heidi was born in melbourne, 1975 and she has stud-

ied at - Melbourne university(2002), RMIT(1999) and
Monash university(1995). She has a unique style of
painting with themes that are set in the periods be-
tween 1960’s to 70’s dream like paintings.

Atong atem

Atong Atem is a sudanese artist living in Melbourne. She uses

her exquisite photographic talents to challenge western percep-
tions of Africans and to reflect both past and current Africans.
She has had a number of incredible exhibitions at venues like
Messums London, Melbourne's Winter Arts Festival, NGV's
Triennial, Red Hook Labs, Vogue Fashion Fair, and the Un-
seen Amsterdam art fair.
