ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

Pre-implementation

The Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710) defines the Gender and
Development Program (GAD) as the development perspective and process that is
participatory and empowering, equitable, sustainable, free from violence, respectful of
human rights, supportive of self-determination, and actualizing human potential.

The Concepcion Integrated School annually conducts a Gender and Development

seminar to promote equality and be objective inside the classroom. To have a significant
influence on the degree to which students can engage in their education, teachers must also
understand the best way to interact with them. It also emphasizes the execution of
initiatives to reduce the danger of abuse, assault, exploitation, discrimination, and other
types of abuse for schoolchildren, as well as to raise knowledge of women's rights and
female empowerment.

The GAD coordinators, headed by Ma’am Emilyn Ocampo with Ma’am Cherry Taruc
and Jonalyn Nolasco, met with the school head to discuss how to properly run the seminar
as part of the preparation for the GAD seminar. As the meeting was officially settled, the
school head, Mam Sheryl C. Dela Pena, made a memo to inform teachers of the details of
the seminar and called for a meeting to discuss the venue and other matters.

Program Part I

The participants arrived at the venue at 2:00 pm after a few hours of travel. They
were given a few minutes to rest before the program started. The Gender and Development
seminar was held in Dawal Beach Resort, Zambales, on July 14–15, 2023. This seminar once
again reminds the participants, both teaching and non-teaching staff, of the need to
strengthen women's empowerment and promote equality for both teachers and learners.
On the first day of the seminar, Mr. Ireneo, Master Teacher II of MSHMS team
building facilitator, conducted different activities related to the topic. Each participant was
divided into five teams (yellow, orange, red, blue, and purple). Each member of the team
was tasked with preparing a yell to boost their spirits before the start of the program. After
a few minutes of rest, the discussion on the GAD topic entitled “Babangon ako at dudurugin
kita” began. The topic focused on... Some of the participants shared their experiences and
points of view regarding the topic. Everyone was very much delighted and enlightened. The
program lasted for more than four hours, and after discussion, lunch was served. Each
participant went back to their designated room to spend the night and quality time with
their colleagues.

Program Part II

Before the program started on the second day, the participants first had breakfast to
have energy for the activities that day. Everyone walked out to the beach to participate in
the numerous activities they had been waiting to play. Each team was so excited to start the
activity, and during the game each team showed how competitive they were. No one had
stopped each one in spite of the pouring rain. All teams were given the opportunity to
change clothes and get ready for the awarding of certificates and prizes. Every fight has a
winner. The purple color came out on top and received a cash prize. Other groups also
received consolation prizes, and everyone was very blissful and enjoyed the day. Before the
program ended, everyone had the opportunity to take pictures with the facilitator, GAD
coordinators, and the school head.
To wrap up, everyone worked hard and exerted effort for the success of the
program. Truly, this seminar is proof that collaboration is vital to achieving victory.
