Chapter 1:
Freedom of speech

This chapter contains poems about freedom of speech.

The voice
peopleof the
by: wendy christelle n. aradanas

From the mountains high to the oceans wide,

Freedom of speech, a cherished word.
A beacon of hope, a guiding light,
Where opinions soar to great heights.

Oh how sweet the sound

Of words set free to float around
Like butterflies in the breeze
If only everyone could speak with ease

For every person has their own voice

And the right to make a choice
To say what's on their mind
Even if you find it unrefined

With great power comes responsibility,

To use our words wisely, with humility.
To uplift, educate, and inspire,
To ignite the flames of justice’s fire.

Freedom of speech is a sacred thing

A right that we must always cling
For without it, we'd be lost
Our opinions silenced at any cost

Let's use our voices to spread good

To stand up for what's right, like we should
For freedom of speech is a gift
And with it, we can enact a positive shift.

Let us cherish this precious right,

To speak our minds, to take flight.
For in the tapestry of democracy,
Freedom of speech weaves unity.
The right to know
by: Melvin aberos

In a world full of whispers and deceit,

Where secrets are kept in shadows discreet,
There exists a pursuit that we hold dear,
The right to know, to see crystal clear.

Truth, an elixir, a balm for the soul,

A rhapsody that makes our spirits whole,
In its presence, illusions are shattered,
Revealing the path to what truly matters.

With quill in hand, let us embark on a quest,

To uncover the truths that lie suppressed,
Through words woven artfully, we shall seek,
The hidden knowledge that others may speak.

In the halls of power, where lies reside,

We'll tread fearlessly, with nothing to hide,
Unmasking the webs of deception with might,
For the light of truth is a formidable sight.

With each stanza penned, we demand to know,

What truths have been concealed, how far they go,
The right to know, a beacon in the night,
Guiding us towards a world bathed in right.

With knowledge in our grasp, we shall reclaim,

Our dignity, our power, and our flame,
For the truth empowers, it sets us free,
To build a just world, for all to see.

So let us celebrate this sacred right,

To shed the darkness and embrace the light,
With rhymes and verses, our song shall flow,
Demanding the truth, forever we'll grow.
A Fundamentals Of
Freedom
BY: Ronaldo Villaraza

The right to speak free

A fundamental freedom
Of all human kind

Let words flow freely

Express ourselves fully so
Thoughts unchained, unbound

The power of speech

A weapon to fight for rights
And to spread knowledge

Silencing voices
Suppressing opinions
A danger to growth

Through words we unite

Different voices, different views
One collective voice

Freedom of speech, key

To a world of discovery
And endless progress
Speak Now!
by: Joshua Aguila
In a world where everyone wants to be heard,
Where views erupt like a raging fire,
There is a treasure there, a great virtue.
It is the right to free expression that we demand.

Freedom of expression, a thing of beauty

A perpetual flame to stoke the flame,
From little murmurs to a thunderous boom,
It stretches over the landscape, from coast to coast.

Every word carries the potential to ignite.

In black and white, a catalyst for change
It flies above the mountains and into the sky.
Falsehoods must die before truths may be released.

It is the forerunner of truth and logic.

A source of optimism in all seasons,
With pen in hand and powerful voices,
Defying the oppressor and exposing wrongdoing.

For in a world where quiet promotes sorrow,

Freedom of expression is a breath of fresh air.
It offers voice to those who have been silenced.
Uncovering tales that everyone should know.

However, with this freedom comes immense responsibility.

Because words may heal and sometimes break,
To use it with true intent and purpose,
Is to protect liberty and to persevere.

So let us raise our voices loud and clear.

To battle for the truth, for those few voices,
Because free speech will always exist,
People's hearts, as long as we work.
The Soft Voice Of
Freedom
by: wenelyn hulos
In words, we find our heart's true beat,
Voices soft or echoes fleet.
In the open air, they dance and twirl,
Unfurling like a precious pearl.

Through the noise, a truth rings clear,

A melody for all to hear.
In its echo, some find fear,
Others, courage to draw near.

A world of thoughts in whispers shared,

In the silence, minds are bared.
With every word, a chain's undone,
A battle fought, a freedom won.

Speak, for silence is a cage,

In your words, let truth engage.
With each uttered syllable,
A new world is made livable.

In this realm of sound and speech,

Every voice extends its reach.
Boundless in its potent force,
Charting freedom's endless course.

So speak, let not your voice be hushed,

In your words, let freedom be flushed.
For speech is but a simple feat,
Yet in it, freedom's heart does beat.
