FINAL PLACEMENT REPORT

Batch of 2021-2023
Placement Convenor’s Message

It’s a moment of happiness and pride for us as the Final placements at the Faculty of
Management Studies (FMS) have been successfully completed for the batch of
2021-23. It is a testimony of the academic rigour and discipline along with the
exceptional quality and bright minds of students at FMS, Delhi.

It is also a reflection of the amount of trust and conviction that the corporate world
confers on the Institute and its students. Our average salary for the 2021-23 batch has
gone up, once again giving a signal that that our students are not only our strength but
also of the corporate. The recruiting companies with their wide range of the profile
offers were able to identify and choose from the diverse pool of students of different
disciplines. Both the companies and the students were able to match their mutual
aspirations and expectations due to the transparent placement process followed at the
FMS.

We would like to thank all the stakeholders involved in the process as without their
unconditional support and help, this process would not have seen the success. We
extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the recruiters who exhibited immense faith in the
competency and aptitude of our students.

We would also like to express our thanks to our fellow faculty members, students and
the illustrious alumni who have been a great source of support and encouragement in
the smooth conduct of the placement process.

Our Dean, Prof. Vivek Suneja deserves special thanks as he has always been a pillar of
support to us in all our endeavors.

Prof. Kavita Singh

Placement Convenor,
FMS Delhi

2
Placement Overview

The placement process at FMS Delhi was divided into two parts, the Lateral and the
Final placement processes. Students with greater than 18 months of work experience
prior to their MBA participated in the Lateral placement process in December 2022.
Subsequently, the Final placement process for the remaining students was held in
January 2023.

To ensure a smooth and transparent process for the companies, some important
measures were taken. Firstly, a slotting exercise was done to democratically decide
when a company would come in the placement process. Also, for the sixth year in a
row, a scheduling algorithm was run in the placement process to optimally match the
company and student’s preferences during the recruitment exercise.

To encourage entrepreneurship, FMS provides a placement holiday to students who

wish to pursue their own ventures and allows them to participate in a subsequent
placement process for up to two years, in case they want to avail the opportunity.

At FMS, there is a strong culture of experiential learning and students supplement

their academic learning with practical insights from the corporate world. Nestled in a
strategic location that is at the crossroads of busy corporate and student activity, FMS
hosted over 150+ business leaders in the past year to facilitate a comprehensive
learning curve for its students. This is truly reflected in the dominance of its students
in the best and the most exclusive corporate competitions in the country.

Overview
The placement process for the graduating batch of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in
Management at IIM Ahmedabad was successfully completed within three clusters. The third and
final cluster was held on 14th February 2022. The placement process, with the concept of “Dream
Application”, allowed students to choose the sectors and functions of their choice for their final
placement. There were 35 dream applications during 2022 placement season. The successful
completion of the recruitment cycle for the batch of 382 students stands testament to the high
quality of students at the institute and the robust nature of the placement process that provides
adequate flexibility to both students and recruiters.

Placement process
The placement process was conducted in two stages. The first was the laterals process where firms

Entrepreneurship
IIM Ahmedabad has always encouraged students to take up entrepreneurship as a career by
opting for llMAvericks Fellowship. The llMAvericks Fellowship includes mentorship from CllE.CO
and financial support for a period of 2 years. At anytime during the Fellowship, the student can
return and sit for placements through the Institute’s placement process. This year, no student
opted out of the placement process to work on their own venture, under the llMAvericks
Fellowship.

PLACEMENT REPORT 2023

FOREWORD
The Chairperson, Career Development and Placement Office, IIM Calcutta

It gives me great pleasure to share with you the

placement report for the MBA class of 2023. All of us
everywhere headed into this year’s placement season
with trepidation amidst relentless news of mass lay-offs
and hiring freezes. Against this background, the stellar
performance of the 58th batch and the placement team
has become all the more laudable and memorable. The
Class of 2023 headed into the season with 465
students, and wound up the process with 570 plus
offers.

This report provides you with the headline statistics of the MBA program’s 58th
batch placements. What is even more important is what this report stands for,
the success that comes from the coming together of prudence and vigour. As the
first IIM of the country, IIMC is now over 60 years old, a senior citizen if one
may say so. The wisdom and patience acquired by the institute over the years
blended perfectly with the student’s youthful vigour, ambition and fearlessness
bringing out the performance you see in front of you in these pages.

We leave no one behind.

The Joka Spirit prevails once again! Long Live the Joka Spirit!

institute achieved 100% placements seeing the participation of 190 firms and extending 573 offers to the batch
of 465 students.

The institute followed a cluster-cohort based policy with the principle of enabling best student-company fit
during the campus placement process. The process was conducted in a hybrid mode by allowing recruiters to
conduct the process in both online and on-campus methods by onboarding recruiters and students on digital
platforms.

The students were given the "Hold and

Wait" option and the dreams option across
various clusters to maximize their
opportunities and thus improving the
student-recruiter fit for the variety of roles
offered across domains during the
placement cycle. This ensured that each
student was allowed to increase their
likelihood of achieving their desired job and
was not restricted to the first offer made.
This meant an increase in the total number
of offers raised by 50, Hold and Wait (16
extra offers) and Dreams (34 extra offers).
IIM Calcutta continued to receive a
satisfactory feedback from the recruiters
thus strengthening their faith in the campus
recruitment process.

The CDPO has always been committed to

making the process better for all of the
stakeholders involved in the process. We
look forward to bringing in changes in order
to streamline the process for both the
recruiters and the students in the upcoming
placement cycles.
