Scope This Korean Industrial Standard specifies the round and rectangular type washing basins (washing tub, washing bow! and bath tub) made of polyethylene, formed by Injection molding method, Remarks Normative references to this Standard are listed below. KS A 0021 Rules for Rounding of Numerical Values KS B 2001 Steel Balls for Ball Bearings KS M 3000 Common Names and Abbreviations for Plastics 2. Definitions For the purpo: of this Standard, definitions specified in KS M 3000 apply 3. Material The mate sanitariness. 1 of the basins shall be the polyethylene forming material not harmful for 4. Classification and Dimensions Washing basins shall be classified by the shape and the nominal diameter, and washing bowls, by the nominal outside diameter respectively. Structure ‘The structure of basins and bowls shall comply with followings. (1) Rims shall have the enough strength for use (2) To be free from leakage of water, (8) The bottom shall have good stabity. 6. Quality 6.4 Appearance The appearance of basins and bowls st lI comply with followings, (1) To be free from cracks, staved moulding or any other defect (2) Foreign matters, bubbles, mould mark, sink mark, weld mark, flow mark and other flaws are not prominent (3) Not to contain conspicuous soils that are not erasable with moistened cloth. (4) To be finished fine and not granuiated on the edge. Change in color, color Patches or clouding are not prominent. 6.2. Performance The performance of basins and bowls shall be tested in accordance with 7., and shall comply with the requirements given in Table 2. of POM AB Helshol AY ER Fe Ee Seu, KS G 3215-1975, Table 2 (1) BaxinatRound te) Nanial nade dometer] [30 [an] [ee [er] so [ase [or [oes Tolerance of capes % Marked vahe "7? However, the test for color fasiness to light is excepted, 7.2 Measurement of Dimension ‘The Inside and outside diameters shall be indicated as that the average value of the diameter of optional direction and the diameter of rectangular direction of it ‘The major axis shail be indicated by the centered distance between the minor axis, ‘and the minor axis shall be indicated by the centered distance between major axis. The inside diameter, the major and minor axes shall be measured at a position below 10 mm from the full basin 7.3 Capacity Test The basin is placed on a platform scale and filed up with water, the mass of water is measured and converted to the capacity. In this procedure, “filed up with water" means such state that a monofilament string of synthetic ‘fiber stretched across both flange ends of basin by means of the weights attached to both ends of the string, just touches the water. The temperature of water shall be 203% 2012-05-14, (PMMA Ao FAAS Holahol BY AP WE EE SUG, KS G 3215-1975 of 1kg shall be converted to the capacity of 11, and the capacity shall places of decimals and rounded at two places of and a ma be calculated down to thr decimals from them. 7.4 Suspension Strain Rate Test Measure the outside diameter of the flange at right angles to the hoisting ‘equipment for the round type basins and the round type bowls, and the minor axis(h) for the rectangular type with the suspending instrument. Pour warm water kept at 50% 3% of the exact volume specified in Table 3 into the basin and hang it up as shown in Fig. After 5 min from the hanging-up, measure the outside diameter(l:) of rims for the round basins and the round bowis, and the maximum distance(l2) of center of major axis for rectangular type basins, and then calculate the suspension strain rate from the following formula. The hoisting equipment shall be made of iron plate of approx. 7em in width, which is bent and covered with rubber. For those with no rims, clpe shall be used for measurement bh Suspension strain rate (%) = “~*~ x 100 Table 3 Classiication Guantiy of water Nominal inside diameter of 27 OFT oom or a pasn Basins over Round type) | Nominal 7 7 tround ype) Nomina ie dameier oT EO Bora Basing Nominal major axe of 62 or over | 60% of fll b (Rectangular ype) | Nominal major axe of 81 or under | 80% of fll basin Bowie 20% of fall b Before hoating In hotating Round type Rectangular pe T C4 >HI \ fi N \\ Fig. 2012-05-14, HIAAE ZA AA chose Hoe AY YA Se Me eS. Put a basin or a owl upside down on the board. Then drop a steel ball of 224(Diameter 63.5 mm, Weight 150.05 kg) specified in KS B 2004 for the round type basin of nominal inside diameter of 42 or over and the rectangular washing bowl of nominal major axis of 93 or over, and steel ball of 1}4(Diameter 38.1 mm, Weight 21610 g) for the round type washing bow! of nominal inside diameter of 38 or under and the rectangular type basins and bowls of nominal major axis of 32 or under from a height of 10.1 m on the center of bottom portion. Repeat this operation 3 times and check whether there is any damage or not. 7.8 Color Fastness to Light In accordance with the test method of color fastness 10 light for the colored plastic ‘material against the tight of carbon arc lamp, expose for 8h and measure the color difference between the color before and after the test. However, the color difference shall be obtained from the calculation formula of Lab color scale. 7.7 Rules for Rounding of Value of Test Result The result of test shall be obtained down to one more place of decimal than the specified value and rounded in accordance with KS A 0021 8. Inspection ‘Acceptance for structure, apy reasonable sampling plan. fance and performance shall be determined by Marking The following items shall be marked on the main body of each basin, and each bow. (1) Nominal inside diameter(for round washing basins) (2) Nominal major axis, nominal minor axis(tor sctangular type basins) (3) Nominal outside diameter(for washing bowls) (4) Capacity (5) Name of manufacturer or its abbreviation 2012-05-14, HA AAHEMAS Holds Fos LY Ha Fe MER Se,
