Superluminal Communication in the Bible and
God’s Design of Marriage
Franns Diletta Maceda
‘It is certain because impossible.’
Tertullian’s original expression [1]
This paper will discuss an embryonic idea of a superluminal communication event [2] (of
a description of a quantum mechanics event on the human or macro scale) providing us with a
first generation scientific understanding of God’s claim of the husband’s headship in marriage,
and supporting the biblical understanding that sin came from one man. Upcoming superlu-
minal instruments will contribute to humankind’s well-being in medicine, food production,
more harmony between science and theology among others.
First part Source of sin and its transmission
Genesis chapter 3 verses 6 and 7 (3:6-7) of the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible
[3] reads,
6 ‘So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the
eyes, and that the tree was to be
desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also
gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate.’ Verse 7, ‘Then
the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig
leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.’
Verse 7 is the result of the warning from Genesis 2: 17, ‘But of the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall die.’

The question arises, ‘Why is it that it was only after the man or Adam ate the fruit that
both their eyes were opened, they knew they were naked and so forth suggesting that shame
(caused by the first sin) was felt by the man and his wife or Eve?
This analogy comes to mind: My wife scooped chocolate ice cream into her mouth and
tasted nothing. She gave the same ice cream to me and I tasted it. Suddenly both of us tasted
the chocolate in the ice cream! It becomes weirder - to my time perspective her chocolate
taste happened after (past event) I ate chocolate!
Further insight appears possible. The writer of Genesis is a genius choosing a deadly or
negative event (Genesis 2:17) to highlight the impossibly high level of intimacy between the
couple, described in Genesis 3:7.
The bible provides its theological response to the query in Romans 5:12, ‘Therefore, just
as sin came into the world through one man, and death came through sin, and so death spread
to all because all have sinned.’
Though the man ate the fruit after the woman ate sin was formed from the man and trans-
mitted to his wife, and expressed simultaneously by both through their feelings of shame from
their nakedness and they responded to this unfamiliar sensation by sewing fig leaves and cov-
ering their naked bodies.
The Bible appears to be fair to equate the source of sin with the husband’s headship
tying Romans 5:12 with Ephesians 5:22-24.
This biblical suggestion sin came from the man is consistent with the notion of the hus-
band’s headship in marriage. Marriage is a God-designed union for one man and one woman.
Paul’s Ephesians 5: 22 -24 further develops this claim of male headship,
‘22 Wives, be subject to your husbands as you are to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the
head of the wife just as Christ is the head of the church, the body of which he is the Savior.
24 Just as the church is subject to Christ, so also wives ought to be, in everything, to their
husbands.’
The observation the first sin entered through one man, defiling himself, and sinless Christ
becoming sin strengthens the biblical claim of the husband’s headship. Second Corinthians
5:21 reads, ‘ For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of God.’ which is consistent with the message of Paul’s Ephesians
5:22-24.
The first man who was the head of his wife Eve introduced sin and Christ who is the head
of the church (under which Adam and Eve are included) his bridegroom has cleansed her of
sin.
Second Part Scientific explanation for the source and transmission of sin
Quantum mechanics’ superluminal activity is suggested to support the theological claim

of God’s design of marriage part of which is the husband’s headship.
To be clearer this illustration may help. The woman ate the fruit between 12:00 pm and
12:01 pm. Nothing happened. She gave some to her husband and he ate past 12:01 pm.
Something happened. Both their eyes were opened and so forth at 12:02 pm. Superluminal
communication was initiated and transmitted from the man to the woman at 12:02 pm, with
sin-carrying information in subatomic particles travelling from the present moment of the man
eating to the past event of the woman who ate the fruit.
The effects ( i.e. both their eyes were opened and so forth) from the source (the husband)
to the recipient (his wife who performed a past action) were both expressed in the present
time.
A paper by M. E. Hassani, Universality of Causality Principle [4], suggests no paradox is
created under all circumstances involving superluminal signal transmission.
Superluminal or Faster Than Light (FTL) technologies may be steppingstones to discover
new therapeutic cures and increase our food production.
This is crucial in our consideration. Adam transmitted information to Eve’s past activity
of eating (past to Adam’s view) and the effect of this transmission is exhibited in the present
by both the sender and the receiver. FTL methods may reverse the ravages of a disease incre-
mentally by administering FTL agents in the patient’s body. Protein content may be increased
in cattle and crops raised for food, by introducing FTL process.
Naysayers will say, ‘FTL devices will always be impossibilities.’
Heliocentric view of the heavens replacing the dominance of the geocentric for hundreds
of years and man on the moon are two recent examples of scientific revision and achievement
considered impossibilities in the history of science.
If superluminal process is suggested to describe sin transmission bringing problems to
humanity which is the antithesis of God’s purpose for humanity ( which the Westminster Cat-
echism describes as, ‘the chief end of man is to glorify and enjoy God forever’) then FTL
activity may be the same mechanism used as a divine tool for good. Research on superlumi-
nal transmission may pave the way for new methods to bring clarity on, for example, how the
theological assertion Christ’s complete salvific work in the first century provides its redeem-
ing benefits to Old Testament prophets like Abraham, Moses and Isaiah who lived hundreds
of years before Jesus, and thus is consistent with the scientific suggestion of superluminal
communication.
The detection of gravitational waves (first proposed a hundred years ago) is now part of
the new field of inquiry called multimessenger astronomy [5]. The discovery of superlumi-
nal particles will trailblaze new fields of inquiry in medicine, food production, physics and
chemistry.

Last Part Jesus, historical Adam and Eve and evolution
Another question arises, ‘Were Adam and Eve historical persons and part of both Israel’s
history and human history thus superluminal communication between them historically hap-
pened?’
The response of Jesus is yes - the couple were real human beings.
Jesus defended marriage from divorce in Matthew 19:3-8 (and Mark chapter 10) by quot-
ing the Genesis narrative in verse 5,
4 He answered, ‘Have you not read that the one who made them at the beginning ’made
them male and female,’ 5 and said, ’For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? (quoting Genesis 1:27; 2:24)
6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one
separate.’
Jesus defended marriage by citing the factual truth of a historical event that happened
thousands of years ago according to the creation account of Genesis. His questioners the
Pharisees, all experts of the law, concurred with Jesus’ legal appeal to the Genesis story by
the absence of their objections from both Gospel accounts.
Moreover Jesus quashed the theory of evolution with his legal defense of marriage. The
theory of human evolution proposes humankind evolved millions of years to its present form
[6]. Biblical creation claims God created humans in its present form less than ten thousand
years ago [7].
In this paper the concept of superluminal communication has proposed further under-
standing for the harmony between science and the bible, and may be steppingstones for us
to discover new methods in curing diseases, increasing food production and more robust na-
tional cybersecurity defenses. This analyst hopes the upcoming use of FTL technologies for
humankind’s good will be more secured thus the search for collaborative superluminal re-
search is ongoing.
