Worsted weight yarn in light brown, wheat, white, and rust
Size E crochet hook
One pair of 9mm black safety eyes
Black embroidery floss
Polyfil

HEAD/BODY:
Starting with light brown yarn:
Round 1: Sc 6 in a magic ring. {6}
Round 2: [Sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {12}
Round 3: [Sc 1, sc 2 in one stitch] 6 times. {18}
Round 4: Sc 2, sc 2 in one stitch, sc 2, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 2 in
one stitch, sc 2, changing to white yarn. Sc 2 in one stitch, sc 2, changing to
wheat colored yarn. Sc 2 in one stitch, sc 2, changing to light brown yarn. Sc 2 in
one stitch, sc 2, sc 2 in one stitch. {24}
Rounds 5-6: Sc 6, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 4, changing to white yarn.
Sc 4, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 4, changing to light brown yarn. Sc 6.

Round 7: Sc 5, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 4, changing to white yarn. Sc
6, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 4, changing to light brown yarn. Sc 5. {24}
Round 8: Sc 3, sc 2 in one stitch, sc 2, changing to wheat colored yarn. Sc 1, sc

Insert safety eyes between rounds 5 and 6, approximately 7 stitches apart. Posts
of the safety eyes should be positioned on the wheat colored yarn portions.
Rounds 9-12: Sc 10, changing to white yarn. Sc 10, changing to light brown
yarn. Sc 10. {30}
Round 13: [Sc 3, dec 1] twice, sc 1, changing to white yarn. Sc 2, dec 1, sc 3,
changing to light brown yarn. Dec 1, [sc 3, dec 1] twice. {24}
Round 14: [Sc 2, dec 1] 6 times. {18}
Stuff firmly with polyfil. Stuff more as you go along from this point on if needed.
Round 15: [Sc 1, dec 1] 6 times. {12}
Round 16: Dec 6. {6}
Fasten off and close off the body. Using black embroidery floss, sew on a mouth
and nostrils.

WINGS:
Make x2
Using light brown yarn:
Ch 5, turn, then starting from the 2nd ch from the hook crochet the following:
Hdc 3, hdc 3 in the last ch, rotate to other side, hdc 3 down the other side of the
chain. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

FEET:
Make x2
Using rust yarn:
Ch 2, turn. Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. [Ch 2, turn, sc 1, sl st in same stitch as
before] 3 times. Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.

Sew one wing to each side of the body, and sew feet to the bottom of the body.
